Re: Should props and eVars always be matched? - Adobe Analytics 15-10-2015
I am not a fan of doing this. I find that it wastes variables, slows down your site and confuses users who are not sure if they should use the eVar or sProp version of the variable. I find it better to understand when you should use an eVar and when you should use an sProp. I tend to use sProps for cases where I am interested in Pathing, Participation, for a data point that isn't critical enough to merit wasting an eVar, for cases where the 500k unique limit will be exceed or if I really need hi...

Re: How to find product downloads for a large corporation? - Adobe Analytics 15-10-2015
Hi Brian,Thanks for the quick response.I did contact our web analytics team and am still awaiting a response. I totally understand that it's a difficult question to answer... even I did not know how to explain my problem.I believe it may only be possible to report out based on manual filtering as well, but I will certainly ask them about their use of tags and set up.Best regards,Anthony

Re: The difference between Success Events and Conversion Variables in reporting - Adobe Analytics 15-10-2015
Matt Lukoff wrote... Hello, I know this topic comes up and has been answered alot, but I've never seen it asked this way, so here goes: Can anyone explain why Success Events are better/preferred/recommended for tracking conversions than Conversion Variables? What are the limitations of *only* using Conversion Variables (Evars) for tracking a conversion? Important Question. Every new user will have this question. I would point you to read these blogs from my favorite Genious-- Sir Adam Greco and ...

Re: Measure Internal Campaigns with Participation metrics? - Adobe Analytics 15-10-2015
Hi Adam,I should've been more specific. The eVar is conversion syntax merch, so I'm setting it on the page right before the product page together with a dummy s.products value (to get internal campaign clicks and product clicks in the same report like you discuss here). Hence the non-value for when customers navigate away from the internal campaign destination page by either browsing, or performing a search, etc.. I understand the First allocation will not overwrite if there is a new campaign co...

Re: Getting to average clicks to a specific page - Adobe Analytics 15-10-2015
Here is something you can try:Set a custom success event when visitors perform the first instance of the page you care about (i.e. Product Page) and make sure it is only set on the 1st instanceSet a counter eVar to "+1" on each page and expire it at the event mentioned in step 1Doing this should show you how many clicks it took for users (in aggregate) to reach that event and you will see a distribution by viewing the percentages associated with each row...I have not tried this, so I cannot guar...

Re: Form Tracking - Adobe Analytics 15-10-2015
I would suggest simply having a Form ID or Name eVar and using the same Form success events. You can then filter your conversion funnel by that eVar or use Segmentation.

Re: Pageviews as an Event? - Adobe Analytics 15-10-2015
Both show up, but the only a few of the canned traffic metrics show up (page views was not one of the metrics that did not show up). All of our events show up in the metrics for real time.

Re: Correlating pdf downloads with pages - Adobe Analytics 17-11-2015
Hi Adam,I'm having trouble following the steps in the blog post and hoping you can help. I'm using DTM and don't quite grasp how to treat a file download as a page name or make the system recognize a file download is taking place. Below, I've outlined the approach I've taken -- however, I may be completely off-target.In DTM, I created a "click" event based rule for paths that contain a file extension (doc, docx, pdf, ppt, etc). When this event fires I associate a success event and eVar. My issue...
