Submit XML and show a webpage when submission is done
kc
- Adobe LiveCycle 01-10-2010
Hi all,I am doing a project where the customer needs to use a third party signing component (the form is RE off course). Other servers the customer has available is Output and Forms. The scenario is as follows:1. The user fills out the form in Reader (stand alone - not through browser plugin) and wants to sign - he then submits (http POST) to the signing server that responds with a URL where the user now can do the actual signing communication with the signing server. 2. The signing process compl...

Hi Paul,I believe I've tried this already - but it just still returns 0 - (I have a flowed subform, that contains numerous sub_ forms and these sub forms contain the actual fields). Is this a bad approach? Thanks in advanceKimYou will need to use the command: xfa.layout.y(xfa object, units) The result will be relative to the top left position of the container subform. Position of field in flowed subform
kc
- Adobe LiveCycle 15-09-2010
Hi all,I have a form where I have a lot of dynamic fields that I show and hide depending on choices in radio buttons. I need to get the position of those fields that I have inside my flowed sub form. However when I try to get the y-coordinate of the field it only returns "0in" - I guess this is because it is flowed hence it is positioned in the upper right corner of the parent subform and is just stacked if it is shown. However I guess there must be some way of getting the position of the field i...

Hi again Paul,Thanks for your swift reply. There is no schema on the form - is this required for reaching the wanted behaviour of the form?My form really looks like some kind of wizard where I turn on and off each page as I click "Next" or "Back". I hope you catch my drift? Thanks in advanceSIncerelyKim ChristensenDafolo A/SAre you using a schema to define your data structure? Does the schema allow multiple values for those elements? If you are not getting all of the data in the form then that is ...

setInstance and XML submit
kc
- Adobe LiveCycle 09-09-2010
Hi all,I have a form where I use setInstance on some of the pages through out the filling of the form. When I am finished filling out the form I need to submit all my data. However when I use a submit button I only get the xml of the last page submitted. How can I get the form to submit the xml of the entire page and not just the last page?I guess that I could use some kind of global variable, however I don't know how to merge the xml from all the pages I pass throughout the filling of the form....

Hi again Darren, sorry for my late reply.I understand most of your idea, however I am not sure what you mean when you write the following:"3. Create your step subforms and include buttons to repeat the subforms in(4) below.""Why do I need buttons to repeat my subforms? The way I see it I have two types of subforms inside my "step subform"."1. A non-expanding type with fixed sized fields.2. An expanding type that expands when I add more rows or something like that. What is the buttons you are ment...

Hi again SnookerDJHere goes I am trying to create a "guide" or "wizard"-like pdf where the user starts out by filling in some fields and the clicks "next" to get to the next step. I know that this (or something similar) can be solved by using "Guides" in LC ES2, but the customer wants to try to do it in PDF.Each "step" should only contain one page that "grows" like you describe whenever there are repeating subforms. The problem with using more pages is that the users overview of the "step" is pr...

Hi SnookerDJ,I am aware that I could do something like what you describe - but I don't think that expanding to another page is good enough for this scenario. "I am not aware that yo can change the actual size of the page if that is what you were asking."OK - that’s a pity - however I just have to deal with it some other way or the customer has to accept the dynamic page to flow into more than one page.Once again - thanks for your input, if anyone else has an idea on how to tackle this challenge ...
