Hi,the way upgrade process is tested internally at Adobe is by doing in-place upgrades. In this way you ensure the software and content is upgraded and it is the recommended approachIf you decide to use content packages (advised by daycare because of particular issues), then the migration of content structure or post upgrade tasks will not be run on your content. You can't migrate version history or orphaned objects with packages. If you want to migrate just the content to the new instance, you ...

Hi,you say the repository is 100GB is the datastore stored in the repository, it's usually recommended to use an external DS with OAK. You could take a file system snapshot, which is supported with OAK [0].Regards,Opkar[0] https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-2/administer/operations/backup-and-restore.html?wcmmode=disabled#Filesystem Snapshot Backup

Hi,this numbers should not present a problem for AEM, if you have a Publish farm then SCD would be used to sync the users.I'd be more interested to understand the use case, will the users simply be logging into AEM or will their profile be used in some way? By this I mean will you be storing personal details about the user. If you have an existing system managing your user profiles then it would be better to integrate with that, rather than storing details in two places.Regards,Opkar

Hi Rama, take two requirements, URL structure, in order to enforce this, you would instruct your authors in how they should structure the site and name their pages.Adding an H1 to every page. The design team creates the the HTML outputted, the AEM team creates the components to allow the author to enter the title, they then add the H1 component to the template so it is available every time a page is created from the template.Your question is very open ended and more suited to consulting. If you h...

Hi,please see Technical Requirements - docs.adobe.com which contains the statement below:If you are planning to use MongoDB you should get support from MongoDB and explictly follow the advice on this page: AEM with MongoDB - docs.adobe.com "MongoDB is third-party software and is not included in the AEM licensing package. For more information see the MongoDB licensing policy page.In order to get the most of your AEM deployment, Adobe recommends licensing the MongoDB Enterprise version in order to...

>What do you mean by the word baking in "baking in an H1 component"? Is it hard coding H1 component in the template? One SEO requirement could be that all pages must have an H1 component, so in code you add the H1 component to the template. The UI development team will work on how the H1 will look, the AEM dev team will add the component to the template and make sure it does not appear in the list of components. Can you explain the roles and responsibilities of your UI and AEM teams when it comes ...

Hi Rama,It is not AEM Accessibility, it is web accessibility. You have not said if this is in author or the publish instance. For publish accessibility, this is accessibility based on the rendered pages, so this would be defined/created in the UI that your design team create. Which would then be implemented in AEM.Regards,Opkar

Hi,can you share the start parameters you are using for AEM?20 concurrent users does not seem high at all, but depends on what they are doing. Are you carrying out your maintenance tasks, such as audit/workflow purge, DSGC and offline compaction on a regular basis?Have you determined which requests are taking the longest by analysing the log files using rlog.jar Best Practices for Performance Testing - docs.adobe.com When you say they are uploading assets, how big and how often?Regards,Opkar

Hi there,it seems you have already been in touch with daycare, so you may well have already tried my suggestions:Have you determined what is the bottleneck on your instances? CPU, IO, Memory? What are your slowest requests using rlog.jar, you said performance is poor on the author instance as well, this should help to identify why. When you say you are calling external API's is this from the browser or from the publish instance? You could also benchmark base AEM installs using tough day to see how ...

Hi,configuring the transport and replication users is also mandated in the security checklist [0] "The replication user is used to collect the content to be replicated on the author system before it is sent to the publisher."When you replicate content, the system needs to use a user to create the package, by default it would use the admin account, so rather than using a user that access to all the content, you want to use a lower level user to whom you give read access to only the areas you woul...

Depending on the environment, wouldn't it be better to restore a backup, which should have been taken before the installation of the SP?If this is a local environment, I would still have expected a backup to be taken, but if not, then you could reinstall. Regards,Opkar

HI,To completely restrict access to pages you can use Closed User Groups. Creating a Closed User GroupWhat do you mean by "If they have a login credentials then only they will be able to view that page content else they will be shown some other content." are they being redirected to another page or seeing the restricted page but with different content? So you are restricting content in a page, rather than the whole page? Regards,Opkar

Hi Alex, can you clone prod and runt he procedure their? What's the logic for reindexing and then compaction? I presume you would let reindexing complete and then run offline revision cleanup? Also what's the root cause of why you want to reindex, was it recommended by daycare? As, unless you know the root cause, how can you be sure reindexing will help.Regards,Opkar

You can monitor the Replication agents using JMX Beans[0] if you do this frequently it can alert your admins to issues with replication. There is a QueueBlocked parameter you can check.Regards,Opkarhttps://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/cq/5-6-1/core/administering/jmx-console.html

Hi,the docs for upgrades all recommend doing an in place upgrade, as this is what is tested internally at Adobe. The alternative is to use CRX2OAK, as Feike suggested, which allows you to migrate a path from the source repository to the target repository. Please note though, the old and new repository must be stopped. However, you should note that an in-place upgrade does more than just migrate the content, there are also post upgrade tasks which are run which transform the content for OAK, for ...

Are you getting the error continuously or just some files. Did this issue just start occurring? Had you just run compaction/datastore garbage collection?Regards,Opkar
