Re: time granularity down to minute of hour - Adobe Analytics 05-11-2014
Ben Another usercase would be where we couldn't analyse using server logs .. eg. when an article/video goes viral ie whilst we could (using server logs) to determin the second/mins the requests started what we can't see (unless we capture by populating evar with time value) is when the article/video was shared. Additionall we could combine this with logged in info to possibly infer the influencer(s)

Re: Better Management of Permissions - Adobe Analytics 10-02-2014
Benjamin, With regards real-time and our requirement, we would not want the users to run any other reports. .. scope creep but maybe tweaking menu items visible/non-visible by user groups

Better Management of Permissions - Adobe Analytics 09-02-2014
At present I believe there are a number of permissions that have dependencies on other permissions eg. ONLY enabling 'Real Time' under Advanced Reporting Access won't grant access to the Real Time report(s), as an Admin user you have to then second guess the dependencies .. which I haven't yet worked out for granting someone just Real Time Acess. It may not be possible to grant a group specific permissions the Admin requires, however showing the dependencies should make it more transparent.

Google Chrome Bandwidth Management (Data Compression) - Adobe Analytics 03-02-2014
For those of us outside US the following is worth monitoring ..https://developers.google.com/chrome/mobile/docs/data-compression Having enabled setting I've verified the traffic in omniture is being recorded against the google proxy (US), At present the setting doesn't appear to be enabled by default, and therefore not much impact. Towards the bottom of the article referenced ..As a site owner, how do I perform IP geo-targeting?The IP address of the mobile device is forwarded to the destination ...

Lifecycle Metrics - Adobe Analytics 29-05-2013
Make lifecycle metrics available in segment builder, as a workaround we have to copy into prop/evar using processing rules

Re: New and Repeat Visitors as a metric - Adobe Analytics 24-01-2013
Dan, Have you tried comparing New/Repeat segments based on built in visits no. vs getNewRepeat ? I'm seeing odd differences (using discover) suggesting the latter is not accurate (similar finding with other plugins too when compared to equivilant built in metrics )

Return Frequency / Days since last visit (discover) - Have both metrics show 'first time' visits so that total breakdown visits = all visits

Re: New and Repeat Visitors as a metric - Adobe Analytics 11-04-2012
Agreed it should be an out of the box metric, however I'm suprised the getNewRepeat plugin has not got a mentionhttps://omniture-help.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1945/kw/1945

Re: Filter out Spider and Bot traffic from SiteCatalyst - Adobe Analytics 15-02-2010
Have had this discussion/debate with omniture. They SHOULD be filtering out sipders without cost. One of the most important aspects of analytics is it's reliability, if bots/spiders are executing javascript or making image request (some implementation include this to capture non javascript users) then this places a big question mark over the numbers and requires further auditing. We have in the past spotted/identified bots/spiders executing javascript and/or making image requests, doesn't really...
