With the "persistent top-level content" feature introduced a few weeks ago, all the content in the top-level collection is now downloaded and will not be removed from cache. That way, users have access to all the top-level content as well as other cached or explicitly downloaded content when they're offline. Currently, customizing the 'Update Available' text is not supported. Items on the AEM Mobile roadmap that will address this case include customization of app chrome elements (including text) as well as the option to update content without displaying an "update available" UI element.

If you have access to host the video directly (for example, from your own servers or a Vimeo pro account), the best way to deliver video playback on AEM Mobile Android is to directly link to the .mp4. This can be done either with a video overlay (from InDesign content) or the tag in HTML.
