I'm glad to hear that Stipe. I know sometimes it's not easy to get started with LiveCycle, but once you get there it's pretty straightforward and very powerful. Good luck in you next project.I'm sure we'll talk again 🙂 .Jasmin

I would suggest to put the /process_data/JeffsForm/object/data in a XML var and write it to the file system or use the variable logger to make sure you get valid XML.The Content Root URI should be set to repository://Jasmin

Then just reference the pdf. /BDI/Forms/JEFF.pdf should work.RenderPDFForm needs the xml data to merge with the template in a document variable. If you have the data in an xml variable then you can use the code in the previous post. If the data is in the xfaForm variable, then you'll need to get the xml data out of that variable./process_data/JeffsForm/object/data should give you the xml data from the xfaForm variable. The put it in a document variable.Jasmin

I tried to reference this in the Input section by placing the value "/process_data/JeffsForm/object/@templateUrl" in the "Form to Rended - (template)" field."Just put the location from the repository (/MyFolder/MyForm.xdp)"the form data. I'm not clear on exactly how to reference the form data properly. I think you mis-spleed the SuperAdmin account. See the fooowing entry in the log:10847857] | [com.adobe.idp.um.businesslogic.directoryservices.DirectoryServicesManagerBean] errorCode:13316 errorCodeHEX:0x3404 message:user_identifier:SuperAdmid domain:DefaultDom Look like you've put SuperAdmid instead.Jasmin

Let me try to explain again. I think you get confused with the different variable types. If you use an xfaForm variable, when the user hits submit then you will only get the data back in your process not the PDF. If you want the PDF, then you can use renderPDFForm pass the data and the location of your template in the repository and it'll generate the PDF.If you use a Document Form variable, when the user hits submit, you can pass the whole PDF back. Make sure the submit button on your form submi...

You can't assign the document variable directly to the "Form Data Mapping" of the user step. You need to put it in a Document Form variable. You can use a SetValue and set it like this:/process_data/myDocumentForm/object/document = /process_data/myDocSee if that helps.Jasmin

You can't use importData on an XDP. This operation will only import data in a PDF.You can use the renderPDFForm form the Forms service to convert your XDP into a PDF before calling importData, but the renderPDFForm can also merge the data for you. Jasmin

Which LiveCycleuser are you using on the email endpoint. The default is SuperAdmin. Also can you add that user under the Security tab for that endpoint and give it Invoke_Perm.Two questions about your process:1- Is there a reason why you use a setValue in your process?2- Make sure the process variable that will contain the PDF is set to IN. Then in the email endpoint configuration, map the input variable to *.pdf so that it puts the attachment in that variable.Jasmin

Ok, I understand your use case. I though you were going to use the PDF in WorkSpace. This is not the case so you are using the right service. Now, there's really only three settings you need to set with the renderPDFForm operation.Form to Render. Usually something like /Folder/MyXDP.xdpForm Data: a "document" variable that contains the xml data to mergeContent Root URI: should be set to repository:/// when the forms are in the repository. Is this how you've set your?Jasmin

If you send an email to user2 and then log to his account using a mail client, do you see the email there? When you're logged to the mail client, can you send en email back to yourself (user2 to user2) to validate the email goes to the mail server and is sent back to the account properly. All your configurations look fine, so I'm thinking it might be something with the mail server... but I might be wrong. Are there any errors in the log? If you see the periodic poling, the endpoint is probably conf...

Are you using the render service from the Sample - Forms/RenderPDFForm under Advanced Settings. The default render service (when you create an xfaForm variable) only works with PDFs.Also make sure you put your XML data into a "document" variable because that's how renderPDFForm expects the data.Jasmin

I don't think there's an easy solution for that one. We are covered for the subsequent users since we can go under the "Attachments and Notes" but for the initial there's no such thing.I think you're only solution right now is to use the API with the Script operation or build a custom components.Jasmin

I believe the "assign Task Operations" is just a "Assign Task" operation from the User service. It has just been renamed from the General tab from the Properties panel. Can you post the link. I'll double check. I'm not sure which example you're following.Jasmin

"it is possible to extend the applications through custom DSC development."It's definitely possible to create your own custom service. The DSC is just a jar file that contains a bunch of classes and an application.xml file that defines some metadata. You wouldn't be able to modify the Foundation services, because we don't provide the source for them. You can find information on creating custom DSC at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/articles/extend_forms.htmlThis is still basic. The properties in the overall email system settings have nothing to do with the email endpoints. They are used for notifications when a user receives a new items or for notifiying an admin of stalled items. The reason you setup the emails setting on the endpoint is because it allows you to have several email endpoints that uses different configuration. Are you sure your email is being sent to the Inbox that's being polled?Jasmin

This is a little more tricky than it looks like. The problem is you can't pass a variable of type document because the jdbc service doesn't really know what a type "document" is. If you put it in a binary object it doesn't work for some reason. I'm investigation why.As a workaround you can use the script operation (under Foundation) and use the following script which would add it to your database:import javax.naming.InitialContext;import java.sql.Connection;import java.lang.System;import java.io...

Alright, there are several ways you can get the data. If you submit the PDF, then you can extract the data on the server side, but then you'll need to extract the data after every user step (since it might change). If you send the XDP, the pdf can be stored in one of the XML node but then you need to go and extract it (not user friendly either). The easier way (that I would recommend) is to use the xfaForm variable with an XDP. Then configure the xfaForm variable to point to the XDP in the reposit...

To get around your submit problem you can add a normal button on your form. Then on the click event of the normal button execute all your scripts and the last thing would be to force the click event of the submit button (to submit the form). The following script would do that://From the click event of the normal buttonmySubmitButton.execEvent("click");The last thing would be to hide the submit button so people don't get confused with the two buttons.I hope this will solve your problem.Jasmin
