I have a drop down question with a yes or no value. If yes, I make a Yes subform visible and reference a yes variable object on the exit. Which works fine independently. If no, I do the same; I make the No sf visible and reference the no variable object. That works fine independently as well. But when both variables are in the script of the dropdown together, they both stop working. Why is this? I have found that referencing my variables only work in the exit event. Should I move the Yes to anot...

I have a question regarding null tests and preprint validation script. I have perfect script for form validation on the preprint event and null tests on text fields in the form. My form has a text field captioned "Part Number:" and right next to the part number is another text field captioned "N/A, Justify:". If the user does not have a part number, it has to be justified and the "N/A, Justify" field is now required prior to submission. My null test is on the Part number object in an enter event...

Hi Bruce,Thank you for your time and response. I would love to show someone this template ("form") but I can't unfortunately. Its a confidential document within my company. As for the structure of the form, I actually used a template that another Adobe member sent me and expanded on it for my needs. What he sent was this: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/535d7c39-766b-418f-9e2a-3a92f808ab54It was very helpful in terms of the layout of my template. If you look at this sample business proposal ...

Thank you Magus069,This is getting me I the right direction, I'm just not there yet. here is my reply from another post I made last week taking it one step farther in the scenario."I have attached screen shots from my form in run-time as well as my hierarchy. My form is really a template for Engineers who will need to fill this out and there will be many cases where the user will need to add additional text fields (add instances) using a click event. Later in the template, I have tables that nee...

I am a novice at LiveCycle Designer and I am needing to have my form reference a specific value, should it be entered (recognizing key words), by a user in an add instance, at run-time. Can LiveCycle even do this? And I can be more specific with an example if this doesn't make sense. If you can help, I'd very much appreciate it!

How do I make my form recognize certain key words in the value that the user types and reference that value later in a table, real time? There is a more complex scenario to add to this once this issue is resolved. I can give examples should I get a response. Thank you.

Whoa.....that's pretty darn cool. Thank you! I'm new with LiveCycle and have been using the dummies version of action building and teaching myself as I go. That may or may not be easy script, but it looks impressive so thank you!! If I make those buttons "visible-screen only", will that allow the user to manipulate the form as they create it in Reader and upon saving or printing, the buttons will go away, thus creating the look of a document? That would be my last addition/question for my templa...

HI there, to understand the big picture, I have engineers that are using a Word template for writing Specs for equipment. It's a pre-formatted document with step numbering broken down for many levels of step numbering. Below is an example. These engineers want this template in LiveCycle. I know LiveCycle can do multilevel step numbering, but the user cannot change what I (as the designer) formats for them, to my understanding. Can I, in a 2 column table, have additional rows added or subtracted,...

I have a standard operating procedure template in Word and have been asked to recreate it in LiveCycle for ease of all end users. Can LiveCycle have multileveled step numbering continued from field to field as if it were line to line, like Word? I can provide an example if I hear response soon. Thanks.
