There is a Web Viewer, but that's not yet fully functional. I believe that is coming shortly after the official release date.What you are seeing of Quicktime, is actually being Previewed on an iPad, connected to a computer, and is being mirrored on the screen through a "New Movie Recording". This is a little trick that is done to: screen record an ipad, share an iPad through a web meeting, or simply display the iPad on the desktop.So, in short, to your question, you can't really preview DPS 2015...

DPS 2015 does not support dual orientation. If you want to have a different version for phone vs tablet, you could upload separate versions, add them to separate collections, and include each of the specific collections in the respective TLCs (Top Level Collections). However, since there is only one version per article (per TLC), it is recommended that each article is output at at 2048 as one of the dimensions (accommodates retina display). Well, In THIS context, I was just speaking of how the meta-tagging can assign the type and style of card treatment that is applied to an item on a browse page: Article, Banner or Collection. However, it is my understanding that in the grand scheme of the new DPS, meta-tagging is going to contribute to some very powerful features, such as searchable content, accessibility, recommendations for similar articles, and even custom user-generated collections and "smart" collections.

In my observation, it checks for new content each time the screen is refreshed. So, If I'm in an article, and I nav back out to the collection level, I'll be alerted of an update, If I go from one collection to another, I'll be alerted of an update, or If I quit and relaunch (like you're sugguesting), I'll be alerted of an update - if one is available. I've noticed, it's also dependent on your internet speed - sometimes the updates come through almost instantaneously, sometimes it may take a few...

Of course you can do all of your design in InDesign: Add borders, text, design the shape of your card rectangles (as long as they can conform to the grid of your browse page). However, that defeats the purpose of why and how this meta-tagging, card assigning system was intended to work. I've seen this a few times, and we have to remember, the product is still in Beta, so all the bugs are not worked out. What I've done to resolve this, is: First, try republishing the article, and it's complete hierarchy from the bottom up - publish article, then it's collection, home collection, Top Level Collection, or whatever nest of collections you've built.Also, try republishing it's mapped card, as well as the layout that the card is mapped to.If that fails, I've also gone as far as deleti...

Kristen, correct, you cannot make the border translucent - in other words, the border of the card can't contain an alpha value. However, the background of the card can be set to transparent, or a translucent tint. You can also add an opaque border around the image of a card in various widths and colors, but not levels of transparencies - on that note, you also cannot adjust the transparency level of the card image, it's either on or off.
