Re: AEM Asset Categories - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 20-04-2020
Hi Mario, What you're talking about is similar to what I'd call an Asset Type metadata concept and it's pretty common--our clients would very commonly have a tag structure under an Asset Type namespace that would include several types of photography (e.g. lifestyle, product, executive headshots), collateral (e.g. brochures, sales sheets, white papers), advertisements (e.g. banner ads), and so forth. Your focus on the appropriate distribution channel is another concept that is less commonly used,...

Re: Latest AEM version on private cloud/On-Prem? - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 20-04-2020
This is really a question for Adobe rather than the community, but my understanding is that the AEM as a Cloud Service is functionally very similar to the latest 6.5 release of AEM. So it's not as if there's a 6.6 version that is only available in the Cloud Service paradigm and all of the AMS or on premises customers won't get the latest and greatest functionality until they migrate. AEM as a Cloud Service does have some beneficial differences from the current AEM paradigm--but mostly on scalabi...

Re: Is there a way to bulk import metadata in AEM 6.3? - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 06-04-2020
Unfortunately, this was added with 6.4 and is not available in 6.3. There are solutions, but they involve development to use the API in 6.3 and earlier versions.

Re: ReOrder Assets Doesn't Work - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 06-04-2020
Hi Prince, Presume you mean you're having issues permanently adjusting the order or assets (rather than just sorting). If you can't reorder permanently, you may want to confirm that the folder is created as an orderable folder (see folder properties). If you're having issues on the very top-level folder of /content/dam, I think there is no way to make this an orderable folder without adjusting in the JCR (i.e. at http://localhost:4502/crx/de). If you don't want to permanently adjust the folder p...

Re: Can we create a review task at an individual image le... - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 31-03-2020
This isn't an OTB functionality, but I wouldn't imagine it would be a tremendously hard customization. If you really wanted to keep your effort minimal and keep the user experience close to the OTB Review Task, you could look into adjusting the Render Condition for "Create Review Task" button. I think the issue would be that the workflow expects a folder or a collection as a payload, so you'd probably need to figure out how to make your single asset wrapped in a temporary collection OR adjust th...

Re: AEM 6.4 Assets Default Sort behavior - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 31-03-2020
I don't believe this is possible via configuration. In theory, anything is possible via customization, but I suspect the level of effort and impact to upgrade path would both be quite high.

Re: Typeahead Widget in Metadata Schema Editor - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 31-03-2020
If I understand your question, you're not having issues with implementing the type-ahead, but maintaining the functionality after a manual edit in the metadata schema WYSIWYG editor. If that's the case, then that's a tradeoff we've encountered and decided to live with. The revision of custom metadata types is something we've also observed and seems to apply whenever you make customization to OTB metadata. The options we've considered are as follows:Never customize metadata to maintain the WYSIWY...

Re: Determining public/published and private assets from... - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 24-03-2020
This information should be in your metadata export. Don't have ready access to 6.4 instance at moment, but I believe the answer is the same on 6.5. I think the problem is that the some of replication metadata is not on the metadata node, so it isn't included in your CSV. Not sure if you what replication queues you have configured. Portal and Sites replication information will be at the jcr:content node rather than the jcr:content/metadata node. If you have Dynamic Media connected, this informati...

Re: Help needed to setup AEM 6.5.4 for handling 3D files - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 23-03-2020
Install guide is here: https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/experience-manager-64/assets/three-d/install-config-3d.html You'll find a walkthrough in this video: https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/experience-manager-learn/assets/3d/3d-assets-technical-video-setup.html Be aware that 3D formats are fairly fractured--i.e. there are a lot of different types of files. Adobe supports many of the most common formats, but it'd be impossible to support them all. You might want to confirm that your 3...

Re: Color Space of an Image Asset - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 18-03-2020
The problem is that color space metadata isn't stored in a consistent place by file type or creating application. There's no way that I'm aware of OTB to pull this information within AEM. You'd have to add a custom media handler in a custom WF step on Update Asset WF and find a library that will identify color space.
