Re: Generate Video renditions by providing height and width - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 15-09-2020
Hi Rohit, This should be possible with FFMPEG. You may need to add a specific step to the Update Asset Workflow for this piece. You can practice the syntax via the command line interface for FFMPEG until it give you the desired output and then put into the AEM workflow step to try to isolate which system is giving you problems. I've also found it helpful to create a one-step workflow when trying to find the syntax--you can run it against your payload a lot faster than the full Update Asset workf...

Re: What's the impact of DELETE on Brand Portal vs. Unpub... - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 17-07-2020
Hi Gary, Agree with the previous answer that unpublish is better, but since you're only using the Brand Portal rather than AEM Sites, the impacts of straight deletion are less serious. (The TTL situation I believe only applies to AEM Sites with a dispatcher and/or CDN caching layer in front of it). Basically, the only impact of a straight delete on the Brand Portal is that the author instance (i.e the DAM) will still show those assets as published to the Brand Portal. The deletion on the Brand P...

Re: AEM DAM assets connectivity to Vignette Web applicati... - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 17-07-2020
Hi Satish, When we've connected to third-party CMS systems, we've used Dynamic Media for asset delivery (presuming you need imagery, videos, 3D files, and/or PDFs--for other file types, you'd have to use a publish instance for delivery). Vignette should be able to leverage imagery and other supported assets via a Dynamic Media URL with a bit of customization on that side. In order to determine which assets are needed by Vignette, it depends on how automated the content creation process is within...

Re: Adding numbered rows - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 24-06-2020
Are you working in XML for Document Management add on to AEM Assets? It sounds as if that may be the case. If so, I don't have an answer for you, but the community may be able to provide more relevant help if you let them know the specific application / module you're working with. The link provided in the previous response pertains to AEM Sites, Adobe's Web Content Management tool, which wouldn't be relevant to a structured content issue you'd be encountering with the XML for Document Management...

Re: AEM-Azure AD SSO Integration | azure-ad-saml-group-limit - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 24-06-2020
It sounds as if you've worked with Azure AD support, so I may be mistaken in this suggestion, but if not, it might be a quick fix. I believe that Azure AD has a configuration in either the application or the claim that allows you to specify which groups would be included the group claim. Presuming you have fewer than 150 AEM-relevant groups, if that configuration exists, you should be able to have Azure AD in effect filter the group claim to only specific groups that are relevant. I may be think...

Re: AEM User / Group permissions for subfolders - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 20-05-2020
Good question and unfortunately, the answer is "not exactly." Your issue is an ongoing governance issue as new Company folders are added. The other solution provided will work as a one-time fix, but if you wanted to manage permissions every time a new Company folder was created you could do so through the normal /useradmin interface--there's no special benefit to directly editing the rep:policy node. When we've had situations like this, we've found the best solution is normally to make the Compa...

Re: Asset folder timeline - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 20-05-2020
I believe this is expected behavior. Folders do not support timelines--only assets. You're on a very old version of AEM, but I don't believe that situation changes in more recent versions. The timeline of published assets (with a folder that is published) is available. Hope this helps,Beau

Re: Scene7 is not giving desired image size in square and... - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 19-05-2020
There's are 2 low-tech solutions and 1 high-tech. First, the easy high-tech solution: if you're licensed for Dynamic Media and using dynamicmedia_scene7 runmode, use Smart Cropping. This is awesome new tech that allows aspect ratios to be adjusted with Sensei. You can configure this under image profiles. Documentation here: https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/experience-manager-65/assets/dynamic/image-profiles.html Low-tech option 1: Only specify one dimension. In your case, you'd specify the...

Re: ReOrder Assets Doesn't Work - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 20-04-2020
Hi Prince, I'm sorry for slow reply to your comment--community platform didn't notify me. I don't believe we have clients on your exact Service Pack level (and even if we did, you could have run mode differences that impact things in surprising ways). I haven't seen any customers with this issue in 6.4 in general, but if you've verified that that re-ordering of an orderable folder in List View isn't saving in your instance, I'd open a daycare ticket as it seems likely to be a product bug of some...

Re: Cropped Image save as a new Image - Adobe Experience Manager Assets 20-04-2020
We've customized to this requirement before, but unfortunately, it's been a while and I can't recall the precise mechanism we took. If my vague memory is correct, we had users access the "crop-as-new-image" function via a small custom workflow (accessed via a custom menu button) that leveraged the same UI as the out-of-the-box crop, but since we'd forked that OTB code, we could take a different result. I would say that crops in the AEM tool are almost never the right way for users to handle crop...
