Yes i agree.. using the OSGI/java alidation route would be simple. But our requirement was to do this on the form/client-side. I was looking into Adaptive Forms and the "GuideDropdownList" component. Will udpdate the post if i can solve this using adaptive forms.

Thanks. How do we make this call (Fill drop down via JS call to web service.. ajax request) ? Can you help me with a code-example.. I think i saw an example here [ https://helpx.adobe.com/aem-forms/6/dynamically-populate-dropdowns.html ] but was not complete. And yes, our requirement is to load to Country/State everytime.. client sells Products to Consumers in different regions, and the drop downs chnages based on product availability in that region.

What would be the best way to do the following:1. A drop-down list with COUNTRYies. The list of countries are in json format, retrieved from a web service.2. Show or pre-fill the STATE dropdown based on Country selection. This looks to be a standard requirement but was not able to find a proper solution. What we have done as of now if using Sightly, make a call to get the Country list in a json and populate, and based on selection show STATES(for USA) or PROVINCES(for Canada) and doing Show/Hide...

We were using AEM 6.1 quickstart on Windows machine with Java 1.8.To be consistent with other teams, we had to downgrade our Java version to 1.7.0_79 , after we uninstalled Java 8 and rest the JAVA_HOME and PATH variable to reflect the new (downgraded) version of Java and ran AEM using "crx-quickstart.jar" file, AEM started properly but the default startup page does not load and shows this exception:java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/apache/jsp/libs/granite/core/components/login/login_j...

maggod wrote... Same issue here... Was able to solve it by creating a "rep:SystemUser". Looks like it MUST be such a user. Can you elaborate or post example on how you were using "Apache Sling Service User Mapper Service Amendment" factory. I'm using AEM 6.1 and "resourceResolverFactory.getServiceResourceResolver" is failing with Login Exception.

Are you trying this on AEM 6.1?Try these:1. Override the "activate" method in your class to instantiate the "ResourceResolver".. here's a sample@Component(immediate = true, label = "SiteContent Helper", description = "SiteContent Helper") @Service(value = SiteContentHelper.class) @Properties({ @Property(name = Constants.SERVICE_DESCRIPTION, value = "SiteContent Helper") }) public class SiteContentHelper { @Reference private ResourceResolverFactory resolverFactory; private ResourceResolver resour...

Thanks. I will try using the OSGI route. I tried doing another route of creating a new customer property at site level and reading that in my code. But i like the OSGI route better than using the "content".

Thanks it worked. To summarize what i did:1. Define an xml file for each OSGI config under ..package-folders..\src\content\jcr_root\apps\abccommons\configSample:2. Saved it as classname-servicename.xml3. Did a maven build and deploy4. Open CRX/DE and go to your /apps/package-name/config . We can see all the configs with the filesnames as defined in Step 2 above.

When creating a new OSGI configuration, under "configuration Information" there is "Persistent Identity (PID)" that is appending a dynamically generated random text to each configuration. I think this is done to uniquelyidentify each object. But my question, can we customize or change them to be more readable? Our problem is that we have to register several configs and it is getting hard to identify by looking at them, we have to open each to know what it is. Appreciate any advice here. Attached ...

Objective: The response of a webservice is an excel (a separate call for pdf) file. I need to show this file as a link on the aem-page, and whne users click the link, the browser opens (or downloads) the file. Use case: On the customer page, there is a section with links to Order History (Excel file), Invoice(PDF file), Products catalog(Excel file). Clicking on each link, makes a call to webservice and fetches the respective file.Would appreciate any thoughts on how to achieve this.

We are trying to upgrade to AEM 6.1 from 6.0sp2. As Adobe suggested that we have to upgrade the Dispatcher to 4.1.9 (as mentioned here https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/release-notes.html ) On Publish instance, we did the following: 1.
