You will need to use an index into your xpath expression. The xpath expression builder does not do this for you, you've got to add it yourself.See this: http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/wb_help/000262.html and other pages nearby.Howardhttp://www.avoka.com

Hi JeromeMy suggestion to you is to use the Attachments tab in Workspace rather than the paperclip-attachments within Acrobat - this makes life much simpler for the process designers. We have developed a tool for purging the attachments of a process, to reduce space in both the database and the GDS.more information here:http://www.avoka.com/avoka/addons.shtmlHoward

Hi Jasmin/CarmenI haven't tried this lately, but I believe that a copy of the form data is made at the time that the form is assigned in the User>AssignTask step. This means that even though the form data is shared within the process, each of the users in the gateway will see their own "version" of the data.I don't believe that there is any way of having one user's "completion" automatically update another user's version of the data. You can imagine how confusing this could be, particularly if th...

Hi NeptunoAs far as I know, Jasmin is completely correct. The only way that you won't get the exception is if the write of the component "eats" the exception - i.e. catches it, and doesn't rethrow it or another exception.Howardhttp://www.avoka.com

HiWe have a component that does this. Basically, you create a table with repeating rows in your form, and the component will create a new row with information from the previous AssignTask step.More information here:http://avoka.dnsalias.com/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=1966151Or email info@avoka.com for more information.howardhttp://www.avoka.com

Hi JeromeWe have developed a utility to remove large attachments, and several other LiveCycle data objects that consume database/GDS space. You can download a trial here:http://www.avoka.com/avoka/addons.shtml - click on "Purge Utility".By the way, attachments are stored as "Documents", which mean that they follow the same rules as other types of documents - they are stored in the database till they exceed the threshold (64K by default), and thereafter they are stored in the GDS.Howardhttp://www....

There was a bug in 8.0 that I believe is fixed in 8.2 where tasks assigned to a group were not removed when the process was terminated.Your easiest solution right now is:- create a dummy local user called "dummy" or something like that- go into adminui/process management/task management, find the tasks, and allocate them to the dummy user. They will still be there, but at least they won't irritate anyone.Howardhttp://www.avoka.com

You can integrate OCR and scanning into LiveCycle. Generally you would get the OCR software to read the image, extract the data, and invoke a LiveCycle process using the data. You can invoke the process in multiple ways, such as dropping the data into a "watch folder".LiveCycle's strengths, however, are when you move your customers to filling in forms electronically rather than by hand.Howardhttp://www.avoka.com

Hi HanTo debug your mail connectivity, one way is to download a mail client (such as http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/) and install it on your server. It MUST be the same server as LiveCycle is installed on.Then try to configure ThunderBird to connect to your mail server and send an email. That should hopefully be an easy way to tell if you've got your server names, authentication, etc, set up correctly.Howardhttp://www.avoka.com
