Re: Sum of Values from previous rows in a dynamic table - Adobe LiveCycle 29-02-2012
Thank you.I was able to take your script and modify it for my needs, and make the first scenario work. There are a few tricky "if" statements for when a line is deleted from the table to keep the Total column clean, but it works nicely. I appreciate the sample to get me where I needed.Note to future readers that I have to edit the XML source to remove a bunch of line breaks. The Add Line didn't work as a result, but I set a minimum number of rows to 20 and was able to play around all I needed.Re...

Sum of Values from previous rows in a dynamic table - Adobe LiveCycle 27-02-2012
Hello,I have a dynamic table has multiple rows (added dynamically via a button). One column in the table is a Quantity column. Another is a Total column. We do not want to keep a running total, but only wish to display a total when the rest of the cells in that row are emty and the previous row(s) has/have values in the Quantity column. The Total is the sum on the Quatnities up to a blank row. Below is a sample. How do I get teh value of the Quantities in the previous rows?QuantityTotal581225727...

Default path for image Field - Adobe LiveCycle 16-12-2011
Is there a way to save a default path for where an Image Field first looks for an image? It can be relative to the saved path, if this makes it easier for setting. Preferably at the same level, though, but we can work with a limitation if need be. So on a Windows machine we would have 2 folders:c:\PDF_filesc:\PhotosThe PDF will be in the first, the images in the second. How can I have the form look in the second location by default?Regards,Karl S

Re: Create Livecycle form that can not be overwritten - (template) - Adobe LiveCycle 12-12-2011
Scott (past-tense) has the easy answer. Of course, it does not stop someone from changing the Read Only setting, unless this is on a server and the security settings are used instead of the file's properties.Another possibility COULD be to use the form's preSave event to chack for the file name and change it if the original template is open. the problem is that this probably requires a client side script file with a function to chang the file name. I don't think it can be in a script in the file...

Table fields populated via selection in 1 - Adobe LiveCycle 12-12-2011
Hello,I have a form that has a table. In the table I want to have 2 Drop-down lists in the same row. Changing either one of these will populate the other AND some text fields in the table's same row. So in the below table, selecting either of the dropdowns in the first 2 columns should populate the first 4 columns with the data associated with that item in the XML. How do all these fields get connected? I have seen them connected when filling the form from the XML data, via the Purchase Order sa...

Re: Folder level scripts and tablets - Adobe LiveCycle 18-11-2011
It seems both George and Niall are specific about using the term XFA forms. For clarification: Is there a difference between an XFA form and other PDF forms? Maybe a differnce between one created with LiveCycle vs Acrobat Pro? Also , what if the form is opened in Acrobat Pro and I use the "Extend Features in Acrobat Reader..." command?Karl

Folder level scripts and tablets - Adobe LiveCycle 17-11-2011
Hello,I have a form developed in LiveCycle which uses a fodler level script to supply a SaveAs function. The company is considering tablets for some use, and this form would be one of hte uses. Do the folder level scripts work with any of the tablets? I would especially like to know from the android and ios sides. Maybe it depends on the functions used, i.e. a saveas would work but not a function to look up an email address?Regards,Karl

javascript weekday format - Adobe LiveCycle 17-11-2011
I have the following javascript in a form I am creating in LiveCycle. The first item, setting the ReportDate works fine. The second item does not. It puts eeee in the field, and not the weekday's name. I even tried using "eee" and "EEEE" and "EEE" to only get the "e" characters placed in the field as they are listed. What might I have wrong? form1.#pageSet[0].Page1.SaveAsButton::click - (JavaScript, client)// Place the current Date and Day in the appropriate fields on the formPage1Header.ReportD...

Table spanning Columns - Adobe LiveCycle 14-11-2011
Hello,I have need to create a table which cover half of a page width and has 3 total columns, but an undetermined number of lines. Additionally, I would like the table to continue next to itself, as if in a second newspaper column, with the number of rows in each being equal. So if the entire table below represents the page, the two large blank areas would be some context, and the rest representst the table itself. HEADER1 and HEADER 1 (repeated) would be the same part of the table with the (rep...
