Remove a row from multiple tables - Adobe LiveCycle 28-06-2012
Hello,I have a form that has what appears to be one table. Since I needed 30 columns (29 of them are single character fields) I had to use 2 table objects. Then I needed the ability to add and remove rows. Adding a row at the end is easy enough. Deleting a specific row is the problem. At the moment, I added a third table which has a header row and a item body row. the body row is a button with the intention of removing that entire row from the large table. This means it needs to remove the row f...

Time Field Input - Adobe LiveCycle 27-06-2012
Hello,Apparently with all the valid edit patterns for a time field, if I want to enter 6 AM quickly, the least I have to put in is "06" (without quotes, of course). But if I put in "6" without the leading zero, the field does not get formatted as a time. Is there any way to force this without writing custom code? I am trying to cover the various input methods. I have tried all the available Select Types and also modified a couple to examples such as:time{h:MM}time{h}These result in an error stat...

Re: Circle day abbreviation - Adobe LiveCycle 26-06-2012
Thank you, radzmar. That was the problem. Now the only issue is that the date and script changes are only preserved if another field is filled in before saving the form. Oddly, it seems the other field can be filled in before or after filling in the Date/Time field. Setting a hidden in the same script does not solve the problem. Note that the script is being run in the reportDate::exit event.

Re: Circle day abbreviation - Adobe LiveCycle 26-06-2012
radzmar,Thank you for the reply. It looks like your code is in FromCalc and not JavaScript.I have managed to figure out the date part since posting. I need to use formattedValue and not rawValue: var d = new Date(reportDate.formattedValue); var reportDay = d.getDay();I do still need to force the border. I have found that I can put a border around each text item and turn the "presence" to "visible" or "hidden", but this does not hold. When I save and then re-open the form, it shows all the border...

Circle day abbreviation - Adobe LiveCycle 26-06-2012
Hello all. When using a Date/Time Field, how do I change the field's value to an actual Date variable? I have triedvar d=new Date(reportDate.rawValue);but it does not seem to work.Long versions:I have a form that has a Date/Time Field that is set to a Date format. Under it I have 7 text elements, each representing a day of the week: M T W TH F S SU Each text element has the same name:TextDay[0] = "SU"TextDay[1] = "M"etc. toTextDay[6] = "S"I have set the Border to each TextDay to display as a circ...

Re: (2) Check boxes, one or the other... - Adobe LiveCycle 07-03-2012
Have you tried Radio Buttons instead? The difference is that they perform exactly as you are asking. By default, they initially display as a circle, but you can change it to a square if you need to. Here is a link to teh v9 help docuemtn on radio Buttons: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/designerHelp/index.htm?content=000351.htmlKarl

Re: Pass an InstanceManager item to a global function - Adobe LiveCycle 05-03-2012
Thank you for the response, Niall. The problem with passing the object is that the row name is not consistent in all tables that will call the function. I am calling it from a cell in the row, and would want, in this case, to delete the entire row. I am trying to use a function because I am doing some other things to validate the deletion first, and would liek to avoid repetative code for each table.Karl

Pass an InstanceManager item to a global function - Adobe LiveCycle 05-03-2012
Apparently the 2 lines below do not pass the instance of Item to the global function, or I am referencing the instance incorrectly in the fucntion, which is the bottom part. Can someone help me with the proper syntax to allow a function to work on an instance in a LiveCycle form?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~var rowInstance = this.parent.parent._Item; script_object.deletetheRow(testMe, rowInstance);~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ form1.#variables[0].#script[0] - (J...

Re: emailing and opening form - Adobe LiveCycle 05-03-2012
Another option would be to set a value on a hidden field, and use that field's value in an form intialize event to display the subform or hide it. Use the signature firld's postSign event to set the hidden field.I understand the desire to keep the form from showing something to the client that they don't fill out, prior to teh signature, but is the subform sensitive? If it is, then recognize that the client might stil be bale to see it, provided they have LiveCycle. There are probably other ways ...

Check row for data in a dynamic table - Adobe LiveCycle 05-03-2012
Is there a way, without checking every cell in a row, to determine if at least one of the cells in that row contains some sort of data? My goal is to have a Delete This Row button in the first cell, but provide a warning message if the row contains data. Since I have a form with 8 tables that contain this button, I was hoping to find somehting like this.parent.parent._Row.hasData but that doesn't seem to exist. I am jus thoping there is something I missed.Regards,Karl
