Re: LCCS Alternatives - Adobe LiveCycle 14-07-2012
Good news Jeff,As soon as you guys get the chance to disclose some info, I would be very interested in knowing how the future pricing will compare to the paid services that we had with Adobe. Because otherwise, I might have to continue with the development of an alternative, as I'd rather not hang my hopes on them springing the prices on us in Oct.Thanks,Matthew

Re: LCCS Alternatives - Adobe LiveCycle 01-05-2012
Just had a co-worker point out this possible OpenSource alternative that claims it can handle streaming video, both RTMP and RTMPS http://www.fluorinefx.com/I haven't had the opportunity to explore it yet. Has anyone had any experience with it?

Re: Petition to extend LCCS Service until October 31st 2013 - Adobe LiveCycle 29-03-2012
Luckily for me, Adobe annouced shutdown 2 weeks before I sought my first round of funding with some hard dates on deployment. However if they were to give us until the time you suggested, that would allow me an opportunity to make some profit while I build again from scratch as opposed to just building from scratch... And it would be much appreciated.

Is LCCS dead meat because of Adobe Connect? - Adobe LiveCycle 27-03-2012
I'm sorry, but I can't help but wonder how Adobe can say there is no profit in LCCS and yet offer Adobe Connect as a service themselves. It sounds to me like Adobe is trying to eliminate the competition... Don't get me wrong, I'm about as close to an Adobe fanboy as you get, but this seems just a tad bit off on the logic scale. To me, the logical solution is, if necessary, raise the pricing on LCCS on us developers, or release the server side code (at least the portions that are owned by Adobe).

Re: LCCS Alternatives - Adobe LiveCycle 27-03-2012
BBB does not do room provisioning, nor does it do authentication.External authentication is easy enough. You can build one against your own server in less than 100 lines of code, or use other authentication services like OAuth against a number of sites like facebook, google, yahoo etc.So, for those interested, I have decided to create server-side code that will be cross-platform for LCCS to resolve to Red5, FMS, or Wowza. It will ulitimately require some tweaking of the Flex side libraries, but ...

Re: LCCS Alternatives - Adobe LiveCycle 26-03-2012
Jeff,Is there any way you think you can talk Adobe into allowing us to use the LCCS libraries on the flex side? So we can ignore:/*** ADOBE CONFIDENTIAL* ___________________** Copyright [2007-2010] Adobe Systems Incorporated* All Rights Reserved.** NOTICE: All information contained herein is, and remains* the property of Adobe Systems Incorporated and its suppliers,* if any. Re: LCCS Alternatives - Adobe LiveCycle 26-03-2012
I have been developing for a while on a new project with LCCS. Having heard on the potential demise of it, I have a few pointers for potential alternatives. If you just need shared data (not video, not screen sharing), I really like union server: http://www.unionplatform.com/If you want free, open source (I haven't found much on the flex side, but a lot on the server side) : http://www.bigbluebutton.org/ <- This has some awesome possibilities for a good LCCS migration. I think if we all pitch in,...

Room Usage - On The Fly - Adobe LiveCycle 26-01-2012
With the LCCS Room Console, one can see the usage of a particular room. So the services must be exposed to the LCCS AIR app.Can we do that with either the server-to-server libraries or the Flex/Flash SDK?For example I would like to create a semi-real-time usage monitor for a meeting (room) by grabbing the number of user minutes, bandwidth used, and push messages.
