Re: Project Plans for Conversion - Fusion - Workfront 17-03-2020
Hi Miranda, We do something similar, if I am reading your use case correctly. We have a custom form that the user fills out when they are requesting a project. We have a template that has the "worst case" scenario for a project. Based on the answers in the custom form, Fusion will create a new project based on the template and remove the tasks that are not required. It works really well for us, including project governance. Re: Idea Exchange Promotion - Workfront 06-02-2020
Kevin, Are you saying that you are looking for more than what is currently there? To add an existing group to a parent, editing the parent group and adding the proposed subgroup name will move it as a subgroup. And if you want to remove it, going to the parent and removing the group will make it a primary group, which then you could use the first step to move it where you want. For user membership in groups, I go in through the user side where I can bulk edit people through filters and creative ...

Re: Limiting Row Heights on Reports - Workfront 11-11-2019
Hi Kirsten, One thing I can think of is that you could create a custom column in text mode that limits the length of the strings. Then, to Narayan's point, have a view that allows you to edit the fields versus view these limited strings. Think: SUBSTR({string},number of start position, length of string) The other approach could be to build the custom data into more of a form style of shared columns (data sheet style) that would allow the text to wrap into more of a paragraph. An example of this ...

Re: Converted Issues to Tasks Not Retaining Original Requestor Information on the Task - Workfront 14-10-2019
Isn't this the converted issue originator? I noticed that column recently, and I thought that is what that set of fields was. Dale Whitchurch Arthrex Inc

Re: Soooo Many Weird Glitches last 2 weeks !! Is it just "Us" - Workfront 05-09-2019
Yes, this is when you drag a task from one location in the project to another location on a list. A workaround that we have found it turning off autosave. Just don't forget to click save when you are done. Dale Whitchurch Arthrex Inc

Re: Soooo Many Weird Glitches last 2 weeks !! Is it just "Us" - Workfront 03-09-2019
Hello, You are not alone. We have several tickets open with support on a very buggy UI. Task List Blank: 00162241 Task view with related collections crashes: 00159404 Tasks not moveable within a project: 00161145 Cannot update custom data with contribute access to project: 00152277 Documents inaccessible on mobile devices: 00160096 Task list not recalculating timeline, strange planned hours behavior: 00162702 I am interested to hear if any of your issues get resolved. @David Cornwell : We have s...

Re: Global Nav Bar - Home not available - Workfront 22-08-2019
We have seen this happen a couple of times. Users are not sure how they get there, but doing a reset fixes the problem. You can do this by logging in as them (or have them navigate to address), then in your address bar type the following: https://yourDomain.my.workfront.com /resetUser Seeing this here, maybe I should go in and create a ticket. But, I cannot establish a story of how users are getting this to happen. Dale Whitchurch Arthrex Inc

Re: Reporting on Roles -history and forecast - Workfront 13-06-2019
Not to be the person that comes late to the party, but are we looking at the same data? From the task record perspective, the role does not go away. From the assignment record perspective, it is taking the role of the user. So, even though the view on a project landing page would change from role to name, it would not lose the primary role on the task object. In fact, if the person does not have that role, it will not update the assignment record with that user, instead it will add that user as ...

Re: Workfront VS Salesforce - Workfront 05-06-2019
Hi Laura, It may just be the words you are using, but we are using the opportunity and not the lead within salesforce. Otherwise, yes, you are correct. Dale Whitchurch Arthrex Inc

Re: Workfront VS Salesforce - Workfront 05-06-2019
Hi Laura, For us, Salesforce tracks opportunities for new product development. The Closed-Won state of an opportunity identifies a new product to commercialize (and requests a new project in Workfront). Any activities that are required (proof of concepts, etc) while trying to finalize the business case of the opportunity would be requested through and linked to the opportunity in Salesforce, while the work is managed in Workfront. We have been eagerly waiting the launch of the Workfront Salesfor...
