Re: Statuses don't have to be locked system wide to appear on a specific team's agile board - Workfront 12-06-2019
@Gevorg, is there anything related to statuses on the Agile roadmap for the next 12 months? This seems really odd for things after LEAP 2018 to be moving forward in a positive way for the Agile side of Workfront and now it seems to have just stopped and lost all forward momentum.

Re: external users as requesters? - Workfront 30-05-2019
Catherine, I've rolled out Request Queues to External Partners and typically setup them up as their own companies and groups (per company) to keep things "quarantined" from each others requests and work. As mentioned above, you will likely want to revisit existing Queues to make sure their visibility is set to the right level (Who can add requests to this queue?) so that while your company can continue utilizing them as usual you don't publish internal queue to the External Requestors. That usua...

Re: Rollout of Workfront to College Faculty and Staff - Workfront 21-05-2019
Robert, Though I haven't done a College implementation yet, one of my first questions would be "Who is your target?". There are two sides to that question, the first being who are your target users, aka who will be working in the tool the most; and the second part is who are the target beneficiaries of the tool, aka requestors, stakeholders, management, or the resources. The primary answers to both parts of that question is where I would start with implementation and then move on from there. Dep...

Re: Using Kanban - Workfront 17-05-2019
DJ, I posted the method in Idea Exchange a few months ago as it is a bit complex: https://experience.workfront.com/s/idea/0870z000000PSD0AAO/detail For Agile Teams, the statuses need to be System Statuses that are Locked in order to create or modify the story board - not just for the specific team. AFTER HOURS: Create the System Statuses in Locked state Create Projects and/or Teams to use. Modify Project Agile View, Scrum or Kanban storyboard to include the new statuses. Unlock associated System...

Re: How are you using Company? - Workfront 16-05-2019
Mohini, Until Groups and Sub-groups (and sub-sub-groups, lol) become more robust I still use Company as the top-level segregation component in an instance. For example, if you have an Enterprise with many brands or companies I would have them all as individual companies and then their divisions/departments would be groups under them. For cross-collaboration use groups and teams. Please keep in mind that this isn't a hard and fast rule and I suspect Group will continue to be elevated (per WF Road...

Re: Workfront Proof Adoption - Workfront 16-05-2019
Mark, The interface is pretty intuitive and I find that for Reviewers a simple 1 page doc is all that's needed. If you plan on using Automated Workflows you may want to hold a brief training for the Authors (those generating proofs) to review which workflow for which scenario but even with that, and simple 1 or 2 page doc to accompany it is all that is needed. BE WARNED: once you go to proof you most likely won't go back. John Albaugh

Melinda, Any chance Workfront was able to finish with the swagger documentation? I'm interested if it exists. Thanks, John Albaugh, PMP John Albaugh

Re: Agile anyone? - Workfront 15-05-2019
Leslie, I frequently convert waterfall teams to Agile when it makes sense and I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have regarding methodologies or if its the right fit for your team. The element to consider when exploring Agile is: what is the nature of your team's work? Here are some defining factors: 1) Is your work well defined? 2) Do you have mostly long-term or short-term projects? 3) What does the feedback/approval cycle look like? 4) What are current pain-points in how you w...

Re: Kickstarter Help - Workfront 13-05-2019
Heather, I think there may be a bug in Duration as I'm not able to get that to work with any of the types either. I am able to use setWork and setWorkUnit (H) in my kickstarts, so it's odd that you aren't able to. Are you populating the setAssignedToID? I'm not since I'm using mine for Kanban backlogs so I only use setTeamID. John Albaugh
