We often tag multiple users in threads, so it's become very problematic to see who has/has not been tagged, and it's become overwhelming for our users--thinking people are tagged when they aren't, or assuming someone is tagged because they can't see otherwise.

I was about to post this same thing. We have certain reports and projects that are extremely long; sometimes I want to save my place and open a different report/project for comparison, and it is annoying to scroll all the way back up.
