Re: Limiting Notifications for Resource Managers on Project Templates - Workfront 23-04-2019
Hi Heather, Our new projects default to the "Planning" status; we get pinged every time the status changes from "Planning" to "Active" if we are listed as Resource Managers on the template being used, so that part is working as expected. Unfortunately every project in our instance is (or should be) created using a template, so this means we will continue to get notified for everything. Linnie Ciepielowski Esri

Ability to Change Display Name for Standard Report Prompts - Workfront 19-04-2019
Sometimes, the display names on report prompts are confusing to the end-user. For example, on a Task Report, a prompt for "task name" just says "name" -- we need to be able to update this to make it more clear. We cannot do this by rewriting the prompt as a custom prompt, because in doing so we lose to ability to allow the user to change the condition of that prompt. Plus, that would be a cumbersome process just to change the display name.

Ability to Change Condition of Custom Prompts - Workfront 19-04-2019
I would like the ability to allow the user to change the condition of a custom prompt. In other words, we need to be able to create custom prompts while retaining the text field that allows the end-user to specify the condition.

Limiting Notifications for Resource Managers on Project Templates - Workfront 18-04-2019
In order to give our system admins complete visibility into the Resource Scheduler, I need to add them as Resource Managers to every project template in the system. However, this means that any time someone creates a project from a template, we all get sent an "Access Granted" notification via email. We can turn this off by toggling off the "Someone shares an object with me" notification setting, but this of course turns off notifications for all objects shared with us....which is not ideal. Is ...

Coding Search Field into a Custom Prompt - Workfront 17-04-2019
Is it possible to code a custom prompt so that certain options in the drop-down are accompanied by a search field? For example, I am rewriting the "Task Name" prompt on a Task Report, mostly so I have the freedom to edit the display name of that field. (By default, it just says "Name" which I feel is confusing to the end-user). I have figured out how to code the Filter and Condition modifiers so that they appear in the custom prompt drop-down. But, some of these choices such as "Contains" or "Do...

Re: Auditing and Deleting Custom Fields - Best Practices - Workfront 02-04-2019
Thank you Allison. I did see those suggestions. What I'm looking at the moment is a method to help me quickly determine which forms and fields ought to be retired. I figure the best criteria is usage of each form/field, but I'm struggling to build a report/view that provides this information. I know that there is a view in the Fields tab that allows me to see which forms those fields are being used on, which has been somewhat helpful. But I haven't found anything beyond that. Re: Rush Request Reports - Your Tips / Best Practices - Workfront 01-04-2019
Thank you for the links! Yes, I was thinking of using conditional formatting to flag items that are submitted as rush requests (that is, if the requested duration is less than the default duration in the queue topic). Linnie Ciepielowski Esri

Auditing and Deleting Custom Fields - Best Practices - Workfront 29-03-2019
I am auditing our custom fields and looking to retire the ones that aren't in use. In the Custom Fields tab in the Setup Area, I have a view that allows me to see which custom forms are using that field. I started by exporting that view in an excel file, then sorting the data to see fields that aren't currently applied to any forms. I'm inclined to just delete these, but I have a few concerns stopping me: -It is possible that these orphan fields were previously added to a form, collected data, a...

Combining planned hours for issues + tasks in one report? - Workfront 27-03-2019
I am attempting to create a matrix report that shows projected work for certain users. I've created a version of this in task and issue reports (and attempted to in work item + assignment reports), but I can't seem to figure out the best way to combine the information I need. The best solve for this is probably just using the resource planner, but we haven't rolled that out yet so I'm looking for a similar solution within reports. See attached screenshots for the matrixes I generated from the is...
