Re: Sending a Report including the Summary Tab in the Report - Workfront 26-06-2019
Hi, Cliff. If you're talking about auto-delivered Workfront reports, at the moment only the Detailed tab can be sent. There is an item on the Idea Exchange requesting additional functionality around auto-delivered reports, including both the Summary tab and the Chart tab. Here's the link to upvote: >https://experience.workfront.com/s/idea/0870z000000PSnyAAG/detail (Adding this to the Idea Exchange thread, as well...) ~Eric Eric Manning Language Line Translation Solutions

Re: Contractors time tracking - Workfront 07-06-2019
Hi, Phuong. We encountered a similar problem this year, when our parent company switched to Workday to handle all payroll. The rest of the company (who don't use Workfront and don't do project-based work) simply switched to entering their time directly in Workday. In our department, since we enter time in Workfront in order to track labor costs on our projects, this would have required our hourly workers to enter time in both Workfront and Workday. Double time entry was a nonstarter for our mana...

Re: Logging Project Decisions in Workfront - Workfront 05-06-2019
Hi, Josh. Really like your idea! A couple of thoughts/queries: 1. Would the user be able to apply (or change) an Update Type after the Update has been posted? I can see many situations where either the user neglected to choose an Update Type when posting, or else it wasn't clear what the Update Type should be until later (e.g., the "decision" was proposed and documented in this Update but wasn't officially approved until after posting). 2. Would the Update Types be customizable for our instance,...

Re: Reporting on the JOURNAL object - when? - Workfront 05-06-2019
This one is on the Idea Exchange but is still "Below threshold." I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more votes, as I think it will be HUGE for most system administrators. Eric Manning Language Line Translation Solutions

Re: Update Setup Area to Include Cluster Details - Workfront 25-04-2019
Totally agree with this. It's just silly to keep this cluster information "secret"(!), and I'm always forgetting which cluster we're on....

Re: Access Changes upon Completion - Workfront 08-04-2019
There are a couple of ways I've managed this, but they both involve manual manipulation: 1. Move "Complete" projects to a different Group (I named mine "Completed Projects"), to which all but System Administrators have View-only rights. 2. Change the "Sharing" so that team members have View-only rights. I receive a weekly report of recently Completed projects and can pretty easily make these adjustments using Bulk Edits. (It's not automated, regrettably, but it's only a few minutes of admin work...

Re: Can I add a custom date field to a form? - Workfront 04-04-2019
One other thing I noticed after I posted--if you're using a "valueexpression," you need to remove the "valuefield" line from your code. You can use only one or the other. I also realized that I didn't finish the "Mail Date" column properly; I had some cleanup to do before posting. So, corrected code below. This should work better for you. Sorry for any confusion! The first column would look something like this: displayname=Deploy Date listdelimiter= listmethod=nested(tasks).lists textmode=true t...

Re: Can I add a custom date field to a form? - Workfront 04-04-2019
Hi, Jill. I agree with Skye here. I think you'll definitely be better off setting up 2 columns in your report that use collections: one that will display the "Deploy Date"'s Planned Completion Date, and a separate one that will display the "Mail Date"'s Planned Completion Date. The first column would look something like this: displayname=Deploy Date listdelimiter= listmethod=nested(tasks).lists textmode=true type=iterate valueexpression=IF({task}.{name}="Deploy Date",{plannedCompletionDate}) val...

Re: Can I add a custom date field to a form? - Workfront 03-04-2019
Hi, Jill. To use the task collection, you'll need to set aside the Task report you've been using and build a new, Project-based report instead. You will have to go through some gymnastics to make it look like your old Task report. Your syntax looks correct--you will need to apply it to the appropriate column where you want the Mail Date's Planned Completion Date to display. You will need to create and apply an additional collection like this for each of the columns that need to display task-base...

Re: Can I add a custom date field to a form? - Workfront 02-04-2019
Hi,Jill. If you're asking what I THINK you're asking, then there are 2 (maybe 3?) approaches that I'm aware of that you can try: 1. "Widen" the filter of your task report so that it includes BOTH your original set of tasks AND your new "Mail Date" tasks. (Use the "OR" operator in the Filter builder for this.) Then group the results by project. This will display the information about your original task set and the Planned Completion Date for the Mail Date, one row on top of the other, within the ...
