Re: Calendar Reports - Workfront 11-12-2017
Good idea, John! The problem with calendars is that you have to basically create a filter for each thing each time. You can't copy and can't apply anything existing so it is cumbersome to set up. SInce it's such a nice view it's a shame we can't use it more but it takes too long to set up and maintain.

Re: Best Practices for Capacity and Resource Planning? - Workfront 01-12-2017
I've used the new resource planning and if you do very basic steps, like budget = plan it will give you the variance that you need to then investigate. And I've been able to utilize switching from project to person views to dive into where I'm having constraints. But I still need to export if I want to do something sophisticated (like a 3 year view, which is our planning horizon). I've spoken to product management about it and they are definitely working on improvements. They are also looking to...

Re: Capacity vs Demand Chart - Workfront 01-12-2017
This is great. I would love this. How do you capture consultants versus full time staff? I've given both the same roles (so you can reassign work from one person to another you need the same role) and assigned the person to a Consultant or Full Time resource pool. Would you expect the chart to leverage the pools or roles or what? Thanks!

Re: Moving Documents on project level - show this project first - Workfront 18-09-2017
Layne, that solves this problem but wouldn't work when you have hundred of tasks on projects like we do; too much real estate and too much time to enter. I've also noticed that the list of values of tasks don't show all tasks with that time, only the first five or so that it finds. We have the same task with the same name across all of our projects for reporting purposes, and can't find the right one to move documents too. We have to rename the specific task, move the document, and change the na...

Report on Project Approval (and task and issues) dates like Document Approval - Workfront 01-08-2017
I'd like to be be able to report on WHEN a project is approved as well as the USER who approved it and any comments they may have. Not just the role or the approval process that was used. The actual approval dates. Documents have this because there's an additional object added for it but not projects or tasks. I've also posted this idea in Projects: https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000689594-Store-Approval-Dates-of-Projects-and-tasks-and-issues- Thank you.

Store Approval Dates of Projects (and tasks and issues) - Workfront 01-08-2017
We need to report on the date that a project is approved by each approver (for legal compliance). Workfront doesn't store the approval date other than in the Notes (i.e. the Updates). You can't search/filter updates accurately enough to report on this information. And since Workfront just redesigned the Approvals tab, why not just have the date there as well? (And make it reportable just like document approvals are reportable). Seems like a no-brainer and yet it looks like no one has asked befor...

Subscription for documents - Workfront 10-07-2017
2017 R2 introduces functionality for subscribing to tasks, projects, and issues, but not documents. Product Management says they didn't hear from anyone that they wanted subscriptions to documents, too. I'd like subscriptions for documents. If a person has view access they could subscribe to documents and get updates, like when a new version is added or someone approved the document. That would be great!

Re: Provide in-line viewing of documents (don't force folks to download and view) - Workfront 10-07-2017
Yes! There should be a lot more votes for this. It only works for PDF, even though there's a "preview" button for other types.

Re: Bulk Edit Custom Data on Documents - Workfront 10-07-2017
I spent a good hour last week editing custom data on project documents, one at a time. I could have done it in seconds on a task or project. It was all exactly the same information but I had to do each one individually. Very time consuming.
