Re: Project Report that is filtered by Task existing in certain status - Workfront 14-03-2021
Hi Sherri! You can use the following as a text-mode filter on your Project report. This allows you to filter the Project report based on the Task-level data. Then, just add all the usual Project fields on your view. tasks:name=TheNameOfTheTasktasks:name_Mod=eqtasks:status=INP NEWtasks:status_Mod=in

Advanced Search - stop search results disappearing when editing a view, etc - Workfront 14-03-2021
Hi. I'm a regular user of Advanced Search. I find it very frustrating in the New Experience because it is no longer a persistent screen of its own. It's now more of a popup on top of other screens, and the problem is that it disappears on you when you do something like editing a view. e.g. I spend quite a while setting up a complex set of filters to find the data I'm interested in, and then I realise that I need to add a field to the view. I do that, click Save and then BAM! The search results d...

Re: Idea Exchange Promotion - Workfront 08-03-2021
I can understand Commit Dates being of benefit if users and PMs are acutely aware of them and actively managing them. However, my experience is that more often than not, Commit Dates get set automatically to the Planned Date when the user clicks 'Work On It'. Then, when the PM later changes the Planned Dates of the Task, the end user doesn't go back and change their Commit Date (and the PM can't change the Commit Date for them). The user also still sees the Commit Date displayed prominently as t...

Re: Idea Exchange Promotion - Workfront 04-03-2021
Hey @Doug Den Hoed‚ - thank you for looping me in, buddy! This is a topic close to my heart that I'm still passionate about! This is extremely important. Not all customers want users to see Commit dates as Due Dates, as this can cause a lot of confusion when a Planned Completion Date is changed but users still see the old Commit Date. It is important to allow the PM to control the Due Date that is visible to users and have this not change when a commit date is set by a user.I've voted for this a...

Stop Fusion from resetting the view a second time ('Zooming Out') after loading a large scenario - Workfront 24-01-2021
When loading large scenarios, after it first loads you can zoom in and start working....clicking on modules etc, but then after a while (5 to 10 seconds maybe) it then snaps back to a fully zoomed out view, requiring you to again zoom in and find that area again. This seems to happen after it has gone through and done some kind of post-load check of all the modules. It's not so noticeable with smaller scenarios as they load faster, but on bigger scenarios it can really slow you down and cause fru...

'Add Item to Array Variable' function in Tools section - Workfront 24-01-2021
It would be really useful to have a function to add an item to an array variable. This should allow you to enter the name of an array variable (or even better, select it from a list) and provide the item input (string or object) and Fusion would add it to the list. There should be no need to provide the existing array contents as an input to the function like there is now with 'Set Variable'.This new function would save the repetition (especially within an iterator) of getting the variable then ...

Pre-define the Type of a Variable - Workfront 24-01-2021
It would be useful when creating a variable in Fusion if you could define its type (string/array/object). Currently if you want a variable to be an array you need to set it to be an empty array, or do a merge function including an empty array. This is not intuitive and not as user-friendly as if you could define the type.

Re: Creation of a report containing the information in the view of Resource Planner under planning which is under people - Workfront 07-06-2020
Hi @Rick MacDuffie‚ . This is something I'll have to revisit as I haven't been working with Power BI recently. One option/workaround is to use the workspace settings to prevent your users from being able to download the PBIX file (that's what I did before). Not ideal, but it's an option. I'll do a bit more research soon on this topic. One option is to look at using a service like Azure Data Factory to manage the data extraction from Workfront, then load the data to Data Lake or SQL then you can ...

Re: Is there a way to pull a report of all the API's we currently utilize? - Workfront 03-05-2020
Hi @Tegwyn Stockdale‚ If you go into the Setup area, in the Custom Forms section you'll see a list of your custom forms. To see a list of which custom fields are on each form, add the following as a text-mode column to your view: displayname=Custom Fields Listlistdelimiter=listmethod=nested(categoryParameters).liststextmode=truetype=iteratevalueexpression={parameter}.{name}valueformat=HTML If you need further assistance, I know some great people here at LeapPoint who would love to help
