Re: How do I make a process/service asyncronous. - Adobe LiveCycle 05-07-2013
Thanks for the answer. It appears to be *part* of the solution.However, I am now getting a run-time error "Long lived operation and is not supported on transient branches".Unfortunately, it doesn't "point' to a specific process or sub-process that I need to change.Any ideas?I am not allowed to post my code or files, at least not w/o special permission; however, one long-term process is invoking another long-term process ....

How do I make a process/service asyncronous. - Adobe LiveCycle 05-07-2013
When I invoke a long-lived process from another process, I get the following run-time error:"The Long Lived Service x cannot be invoked synchronously."How can I change the process/service so that is invoked asynchronously?Thanks.{NOTE: It'd be really nice to be able to copy-n-paste into these forum windows.}

Re: LiveCycle Form -- submit doesn't work when copied into new application folder - Adobe LiveCycle 26-06-2013
That's a good idea. In my case, I was able to solve the problem simply by doing a regular expression replace:"\bapp1\b" with "app2"; of course this is high risk as "app1" was all over the place in my particular project. Also, the asset "xml" file needs to be renamed in app2 when copied to the adobe/config file to avoid a name collison (if one wants seperate app1 and app2 to work). For me, this all worked; however, I could easily envision a project where all that renaming would cause problems, ho...

LiveCycle Form -- submit doesn't work when copied into new application folder - Adobe LiveCycle 26-06-2013
I essentially copied my code from application folder app1 to application folder app2; nothing else really changed. I even did a global search adn replace for "app1\" to "app2\"; however, now the submit process which used to work in folder app1 no longer works. Does anyone please have any pointers as to what might be wrong? I am not allowed to post these forms. Thanks in advance!

Re: How does one make the xdp to pdf document editable? - Adobe LiveCycle 24-06-2013
In comparing the xdp files (as xml, using SVN diff, whcih in turn uses WinMerge), I noticed that if I change the following field from static to dynamic:defaultPDFRenderFormat acrobat9.1dynamicthe form appears to allow editing.However, I made other changes, so I am not sure if this is the one that made the most impact.Of course, one has to be very cautious when editing xdp files.Unfortunately, this editor here doesn't allow me to copy and paste, so this is about all I am going to write for now.

Re: compare two pdfs in livecycle designer - Adobe LiveCycle 24-06-2013
Although this isn't within LC designer, one can use "SVN diff" with WinMerge to compare two files; this is very powerful. Both Tortoise SVN and WinMerge are free, I believe.

Re: How does one make the xdp to pdf document editable? - Adobe LiveCycle 24-06-2013
This would be editing the form in the internet explorer (or browser of choice); we have this working for another form, so I assume that extensions are not needed. Is there a property to enable editing or "unlock" the form?Thanks again.

How does one make the xdp to pdf document editable? - Adobe LiveCycle 24-06-2013
I have a document process whereby the document renders, but the user cannot edit the document.How do I change the xdp so that the rendered document will be editable by the end-user?Thanks!

Re: Only first row of dynamic table saves to pdf - Adobe LiveCycle 14-06-2013
I compared the xdp's markup files for the form that worked and the one that didn't. I found that there was a line named templateDesigner expand {b.t.w. paste doesn't seem to work in this window right here, which is irritating}. Anyway, in the form that did not work, this was 0 and in the one that did work it was 1, so I assume that this is why.I wanted to correlate this with a checkbox in the hierarchy in the Adobe Livecycle Designer GUI, but I could not yet, and right now I have other projects ...
