Would it overwrite even if I use two different tracking variables?

Yes...I thought about the 2 analytics tools (separate report suite). But not sure about the current data layer if there is much of one, if that makes sense. Is it possible to continue collecting current data while "jiggering" the data layer to one that meets our needs?
