Hi,

We provide Facebook the video in full resolution when posting through Social. It is then upto Facebook itself to process the video and determine the right resolution.

For example a video of size 750Mb (approx) in Full HD (1920*1280) was uploaded through Social and then natively through FB UI. Both the videos look and feel similar. Also if we download the videos from Facebook itself, they have the same size (which is now vastly reduced from 750Mb to 5.69Mb).

Natively posted on FB:-

Posted through Social:-

Below are the general recommendations FB provides:-

  • H.264 video with AAC audio in MOV or MP4 format
  • An aspect ratio no larger than 1280px wide and divisible by 16px
  • A frame rate at, or below, 30fps
  • Stereo audio with a sample rate of 44,100hz
