Can anyone advice the best of way of configuring DTM properties and Google Analytics tool in following scenario:
Main domain:
www.example.com
Country sites in AEM:
www.example.com/us
www.example.com/uk
www.example.com/au
Google Anaytics settings:
UA-xxxxxxxx-xx
Each country site above uses the same GA code with filtered views for each site. The previous configuration had been that GA account was added in the design. We now want to migrate to DTM one by one for each site while making sure we do not miss any analytics. Thus we have created a DTM Property for one site and configured the Google Analytics tool with same GA account number and activated the DTM for that site. We want to create multiple properties, one for each site and add same Google Analytics number as a tool on the the property.
1. I want to know if anyone sees any issue with this approach?
2. The site live with DTM, belongs to non-us region. Other sites still use GA configured in design. We have noticed a dramatic increase in the traffic of site configured with DTM. Most of this traffic is coming from US, using IE8 and is direct traffic, which indicates a bot activity. Has anyone else experienced the same in the community?
