Hi,

I just need clarification on this, please.. Say a visitor clicks on a carousel item, do i need to capture the cookies first and call this cookie in my data elements before using it in either an event based or page load rule?

I just want to track how many times an item has been clicked on and any visitors conversion. I thought putting this in an evar in an event based rule will do the trick or am I wrong?

Hi Kee,

There is no need to set the cookie in DTM when ever a visitor clicks on an element on your site. Capturing the link name in an eVar/ Prop and associating the conversion metric or instances metric respectively will help you track how many times an item has been clicked on and any visitors conversion.

Thanks& Regards
