Cross domain tracking

I have two domains I have to track. Since the data structure of those 2 domains are so different. So i used 2 properties in DTM to track and then send the data to the same report suite. Then I have a question about the cross domain tracking. In my case, how DTM handle the cross domains? Like:

When a user link from domain 1 to domain 2 in a session, will DTM track it as 1 session, 1 user? Will DTM consider domain1 exit and domain2 as the landing page?

Is there any special setting I will need to set for cross domain tracking?

Thanks,

Hi,

You may need to play with the "This site spans multiple domains" option within Adobe.

How to setup domain / sub domain / additional domains while creating a web property in DTM?

While DTM doesn't really have a concept of Visit/Visitor, It does need to know when to fire an exit link vs not. The visit/visitor is determined by Analytics. If you are using MCID on both sites, the visitor should persist across sites within the global report suite (assuming the visitor doesn't already have different AID values from legacy tracking).

As always, be sure to test in staging before moving to production.

Thanks,
