How to implement Target

Avatar

Hello. I wish there was a beginners or New user section.

We are now in the process of developing some new UI and a new website and would like to do some testing with Adobe TARGET.  Need assistance with implementing Target, we are using DTM to manage. I tried to follow the video instruction but got confused, not sure if I need to put mbox.js code directly onto sight or not if using DTM. Need this done ASAP a P1 status.

Can someone tell me the steps I need to take to implement Target to our site. Keep in mind we are using DTM.

Thank you

HI Darius ,

Thanks for getting back to us with the detailed query. Actually, We currently do not have  use case documentation of using DTM to implement target taking a use-case as an example. However I would try my best to solve your query.

Basically Adding the  Adobe Target Tool in DTM supports:

  • Target Standard or Target Premium implementations (Creating Global Mbox call etc.)
  • Provides an easy method to place wrapping mboxes i.e. deliver or create mboxes around element  on a page and then and then as decribed by you going right to Target to set up the configurations for A/B, Multivariate etc testing
  • Population of mbox and profile parameters in both global and regional mboxes
  • To trigger mboxes of JavaScript events, dynamic mboxes can be added to your site using dynamic tag management event-based rules.
    • Ex- You could trigger an mboxUpdate when the user clicks an element, plays a video, changes a form field, or scrolls to a certain part of the page. For single-page applications, you can trigger mboxes off of hashchange or custom events. The out-of-the-box options offer powerful ways to add dynamic mboxes

Hence taking your use case as an example i.e. Implement Adobe Target using DTM  and create a wrapping mbox around carousel on the landing page of website  and then A/B testing the same .

Please do let us know in case of any more questions or queries.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks Parit, I am currently using those resources you provided. The problem that I am having is there isn't anything showing how to use DTM with Target. What I mean is starting with DTM I guess and creating an Mbox or something and then going right to Target to set up the configurations for A/B n testing and then trouble shooting it.  For example I am not sure if you are suppose to use DTM to creat an mbox and then go to Target to use that Mbox?  See, I am confused nothing clearly states how they all work together. I have never used Target, so I am not sure what to do in Target.
