A4T with Adbox and Redirector

Avatar

Quick question, I'm setting up an email test (not in Campaign) using an Adbox to change an image and a Redirector to change landing page. If I use Analytics (A4T) as my reporting source will this work?

Thanks

To answer my own question I set up an email using an adbox (and a redirector) to dynamically replace the images (with dynamic landing pages) within an email. With the use of redirect offers within a Target activity (that was using the mbox created by the adbox or redirector) this was very easy to achieve.

I first attempted to set Analytics as the reporting source for the activity but no data was ever received into my report suite, this would make sense as no image requests are ever made within the email, the solution is very simple just use target as the reporting source. Works like a charm.

Tip

One other interesting point if working with redirectors within an email, to track clicks on the redirect url you actually use "Viewed an mbox" rather than "Clicked an mbox"

Thanks

I try to avoid redirect experiences however if I need to use them I make sure to use Target native reporting. Here is some documentation on why I choose that: https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/target/using/release-notes/known-issues-resolved-issues.html#... Per that KB: "Under some conditions, a limited number of customers have reported higher degrees of variance in traffic distribution when using a redirect offer in activities configured with Analytics for Target (A4T). Adobe engineers are currently working on this issue."

Hope this helps you out!

I'm not certain on this. Can't picture exactly how you would select A4T as reporting source if this is an Adbox. Please share your results with us after you test it.

Hey @MihneaD,

So the adbox needs to be connected to an activity in the Target interface with the matching mbox name, at the point a redirect offer can be used to dynamically replace images within an email. It was at this point I was wondering if it was possible to send this data to Analytics using Analytics as the reporting source for the activity.

Thanks
