I was able to to this ok with ES2. With the new ES3... when I change the XML data file... the XFA PDF does not show the changed data.
I presume that this works the same way for both Static and Dynamic forms.
Is a schema file a must?
Is there a preferred XML editor?

It appears that the new LiveCycle Designer wants to link (~bind) the pdf with a bona fide xml schema document (.xsd) as well as a (.xml) sample document.
Doing just a cheap-and-dirty pdf->xml link… without an xml schema document… was found to be problematic.
It works ok for both static and dynamic pdf forms.
