Why am I getting application/octet-stream error when I embed an image file in an image field?

Why am I getting "application/octet-stream" is incompatible with image content when I embed a jpg image in an image field?

Does this happen with all images or just certain ones?

It happens will all images.  I am on ES4 with SP1

Here is a screenshot of the message when I open the file in Adobe Acrobat DC

The Form functions correctly, but I get this error each time I open the file.

I am still getting this error.  Any suggestions on how to fix it?
