I am designing a PDF form using Live Cycle Designer that ships with Acrobat
Pro 9.x ......
I would like to create a section on the PDF form that can expand as needed when there are additional data elements -
I am using an XML data file for the content - and the content - is variable ..... Can you direct me to a good example or expalin how this is done ... ?
I have a form and I can fill it out using the XML data without any problem - but - I simply am not grasping the part about how to create a section that will automatically reinstantiate itself - when a new data element is supplied .
Can you direct me to the apporporiate documentation or a good example of how this is accomplished - or maybe it is easy to explain ....
Thanks , in advance, for any help on this .

First you need to make the root subform (for example Page1) as Flowed Subform. Then the subform that you want to repeat, you need to check the Repeat Subform checkbox as shown in the below image link.

In the binding tab of the Repeating Subform, you need to bind the XML section that gets repeated to this Subform.
Hope this gives idea.. If not, please send the form and XML file to LiveCycle9@gmail.com, I can have a look at it..
Thanks

Thank you very much for your answer and your help.
I have another question ...... .. Can a subform be used to display an external PDF ? .... sort of like an external link to a PDF file -
Basically I have several PDF files - and it would be nice to be able to connect them all together ...
If this could dbe done in the subfom - as an external reference ... (so to speak) this could really be useful - Would it be possible ??
what i mean is :
is there a mechanism to load a PDF form (one that has been filled out previously ) - into another PDF form. ... ???

You can have attachments added to any PDF by manually or thru the server components at the time of rendering.
Open the PDF file in Acrobat PRO and then click on the "clip" symbol on the left bottom side of the PDF. You get an option to add attachments.
