We have several complex applications developped in Livecycle ES 8.2.
- Windows 2003
- Java 5
- JBoss 4.2
- Oracle 10g
- Active Directory
We need to upgrade to Livecycle ES4.
We planned to make a Out-of-place upgrade.
- Windows 2008
- Java 7
- JBoss 5.2
- Oracle 12g
- Active Directory
What is the best way to proceed ?
We need to keep runtime intances.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Sam

There is no direct upgrade path from 8.x to ES4 is available.
The upgrade check list guide would help here : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/11.0/UpgradeChecklist/lc_upgrade_checklist.pdf

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I have already read this document...
What i plan to do :
1) install Adobe Livecycle ES4 on a new server
2) migrate ES application to ES4 (with import / export)
3) rework a bit my brend new ES4 application so they can run without errors
4) find a way to import terminated processes from ES to ES4 to keep kind of "history"...
5) on ES environnement, get all running processes on ES environnement and "replay" them on ES4 environnement...
Do you know if it is technically possible ?
As anybody already done steps 4 and 5 ?
Regards,
Sam

1,2 and 3 could be done easily. You can use Archive Migration Tool : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/11.0/WorkbenchHelp/WS59b3382744928dd54cb0c69c12fbb09afba-8000....
4 - Possible in case of successful upgrade.
5 - I don't think that is possible at all since ES and ES4 use different Application Models.
