Securing a document while leaving pagination active

I am using xfa.host.currentPage = "4" to move between pages in a form.  There are many form fields for the user to filled in.  When the document is finished being filled in, I want to lock the form fields so they cannot be edited, but, I want to leave the pagination functions working.  Is there a way to do that?

I assume you are using buttons to handle the navigation?

Check out this solution from Niall for locking all fields except for buttons:

If there are other buttons you want to remain locked it could be modified to lock only certain buttons.
