I have a large amount of text for terms and conditions I want to add to a subform. Is there a way to create a text box that with a scroll bar? I want this option so that I can contain the text to one page. Also this text box needs to be in a sub form so that it does not appear till a yes response is selected from a radio button.
Also is there a way to search the forums for key word? I have tried several differnt search boxes and they all seem to look at the entire web site.

Defining a text field as multi-line will cause a scrollbar to appear when the amount of text overflows the visible text field area.
The attached form includes a radio button group to show/hide the text field.

That did not seem to work I added a text field then set the Allow Multiple Lines. It however did not add a scroll bar. Your reply was the same I have seen on the forums so I have no idea what I am doing wrong, seem like a simple issue but I have been banging my head against the wall for a full week with no solution.

Steve,
I think I see the problem. I need the text to be static on the form. So that when the client clicks the Yes Interested they see all the terms and conditions that I need them to see. I think everyone is assuming that I need a scroll bar when they fill in the text box. This is not the case I need it in a sub form that can be invisable till the customer states interested then they can scroll through and read all the terms and conditions. Every time I try to paste the verbiage in the text field it just creates a new text field. Hope that helps you guide me to a solution.

I am not sure I follow. I added a text field to the form. When you click "Yes" the text field object and text object become visible. When you click in the text field object the scroll bar appears.

Got it. It was where to put the text that was giving me issues. Thanks
so much.

There are no problems, just un-found solutions.
Tech Fact: Paper was invented AD 105, Fax was invented in 1843, e-mail

So when you say you do not use e-mail and that you are old school you
are truely old school.

Hi , i am facing similar issue. I have adobe live cycle designer where i have large text data. i have limited space where i need to enter the text so it can only be viewable to user and user will not be allowed to change but just read. I am also looking for that small area with large text to scroll up and down so the users can view the text. I tried Clicking Insert - Standard - Text or Insert - Standard- Text field. No of them seems to be what i am trying to achieve.
Thanks in advance.

The issue I was running into on a scrolling text box was where you actually place the text. You do not place it on the item in the form. You have to place the text in the "Text Field" object. It is not as you would assume it is. You have to copy your dialog data and paste it into the Objects properties box that appears on the right of the application. You will want to be on the Value Tab and place your text in the "default box" It does not make much sense as to why they designed it this way and the default box is so small you would not think it could accomadate large amouts of text. It did the trick for me though.
Hope this works out for you let me know if you need more help.
Thank you very much, Yes!! i was able to paste large text to be displayed with scroll bar in the text field object- Layout and defualt field. One issue here , once i paste the text it loses all its formatting. I tried to adjust the font and underline where i had it in my actual text but the adobe font tool apply changes to the entire document. Is there away for adobe to keep the formatting as is when i paste the text or change it within the text field after i paste.
Thanks
Faz
Faz,
I am sorry I do not know if there is or not. I had to go through my text word by word and make sure that the formatting was corrected. It was very time consuming, but paid off in the end.
