Where has LiveCycle gone?

Hi

I have recently subscribed to the Creative Cloud and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, BUT Livecycle is missing!?

I do have a full version of Acrobat Pro X, but the install package will not let me install over the top of Acrobat Pro XI?

I have many, many PDFs developed with LC! How do I get it back?

not sure about the question. LiveCycle is not part of Creative Cloud offering.

Have you had LiveCycle installed on a system , on which you no longer see LiveCycle installation after installing Acrobat Pro XI?

Yes, I know LC is not part of Creative Cloud, BUT I do have a copy of it within my full licence of Acrobat Pro X. BUT I cannot install it over the top of Acrobat Pro XI as the installer sees it as a downgrade...

I took the opportunity of upgrading to a Windows 8 machine and have been moving all my apps to that and this has been a major stumbling block

Yes, I am looking for LiveCycle Designer

Earlier versions of Acrobat used to install LiveCycle out of the box but now LiveCycle is sold as a standalone product

Can you please go through the URL that I shared in my earlier post http://answers.acrobatusers.com/LiveCycle-Designer-Acrobat-XI-q61905.a spx

Upgrading from Acrobat Pro X to Creative Cloud after 15th October 2012 do not get the free LC Designer. ALL I want is for the XI installer not to DELETE the old app for which I have developed hundreds of complex PDFs...

I could open the link you mentioned. You can also download the trial version from the earlier provided link

Both links are working for me. Please try again.

OK. I have downloaded the trail and installed it. BUT that does not help my original query. Installing version XI deletes previous versions including LiveCycle Designer ES2. I want to retain LC Designer since I have invested hundreds of hours in XML PDF forms. So, to refresh my query how do I use both my Creative Cloud copy of Acrobat Pro XI AND my full license copy of LC Designer?

Install Acrobat Pro and from the FAQ

The one-time LiveCycle Designer upgrade is available in English, French, German, or Japanese. Eligible customers can choose which language they would like to receive. Visit the Customer Support Portal to request an upgrade.

That particular upgrade is only available to those who purchased a Creative Cloud subscription before 15th October 2012 (See message 8 above) I have applied for a free upgrade a few days ago but have had no reply...

Please post whether or not you got your copy. I am in the same boat. Why on earth would adobe be removing software FROM our systems WITHOUT our permission??? I have forms to alter and no way to do them now. Acrobat says I must use LC, but no LC to be found. Try Forms Central, but it also says I must use LC, and guess what? I cannot import a from created in LC!  Fun with Adobe day!! And I am the one that pushed my boss to go to the cloud.   I don't know if I even have the license number it was so long ago.

What is the expected turnaround time for the free upgrade?

We also have a lot of pdfs that were built in LC Designer, and I just found out this feature was removed when I went to go edit them in Acrobat XI. It would have been nice to know you were removing major functionality from a product our business is dependant on...

BPlease process your queue for the free upgrades ASAP. This is simply terrible.

Did you ever get your upgrade?  Anyone?

What a pain in the a** it is to get this.

Like a lot of people, I had the FULL version of Acrobat X Pro installed on my system, and I asked my I.T. department to upgrade me to XI Pro, not realizing that LC would be secretly deleted from my system. Well, the state agency I work for purchased the FULL version of Acrobat XI Pro instead of the UPGRADE version, and when I submitted my case to get the free LC upgrade, it was denied by Adobe stating that since I didn't "upgrade" to Acrobat XI, I wasn't entitled to it. As usual, they didn't budge when I told them that they got more money out of my agency by purchasing full version, and not the upgrade version.

Adobe did send me my upgrade to LC, but I had to spend a decent amount of money following the upgrade path. And yes, my Acrobat X Pro, Acrobat XI Pro, and now LC software is absolutely legal.

Not only did it get "secretly removed" when version XI was created, but when the latest update occurred on my version X, LC was removed from that.  So, like you, all the hours I've spent on XML documents are now held hostage until we buy the upgrade and LC.  Very, very disappointing.

When you say LiveCycle, do you mean Designer?  Designer hasn't been removed, it can still be purchased.  If you have a purchased version of Acrobat you're entitled to Designer.  There are posts on the website as to how to receive your license.

I mean Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES4.  My IT department has purchased it but it took a fair amount of red tape to make that happen, which wasted a lot of time.  Oh well, at least Adobe will be more profitable.  Thanks.
