Simple fillable form.

Hi, I have tried numerous methods of sending and recieving a single page form that only one person will be filling out and sending back to me and it keeps coming back blank.  The client either emails it to me or uploads it to an online file sharing website.  In the preview of the file on the online file sharing site I can see that it is all filled out but when I download it, it is empty.

I really dont need a submit button, data tracking, ect.  I just want the client to fill out the form either email back to me or upload to the file sharing site and for me to be able to open it and select the data that the client has entered so that I can copy and paste.  This should be simple but for the life of me I have not been able to figure it out.  Thank you so much for any help.

Are they using a Mac to fill out the form?

Are you using a Microsoft O/S web server?

If so, check out PDFEmail.net!

PDFEmail.net makes it simple for your clients to submit, and e-mail your PDF forms without client-side e-mail software such as Outlook.

Another method to try is to enable Adobe Reader extensions. After you create the form, close the form and open in Adobe Acrobat, go to Advanced "Extend Features in Adobe Reader". By enabling this, you are giving all users with Adobe reader the right to fill out the form and save the form. They could then fill out the form, save it to their desktop, and email it back to you.

This might not be the way you want to go but it works. I have multiple forms like this without any problems and am using these forms within the company and outside of the company.

They are not using a Mac. I can't find this Advanced > "Extend Features in Adobe Reader" Option. I have looked in both LiveCycle and Acrobat and can't find a advanced section.  I am using Acrobat Pro on Windows 7 x64. Thanks for the help.

Sorry, I should have specified the version; this feature is available in Adobe 8 Standard and Professional. Adobe 9 also has this feature. If you have adobe Acrobat 7 Pro or earlier, it won't be an option.

Thanks,

This is Adobe Acrobat X Pro purchased this winter so I think it's version 10.

Thanks. Looks like it's working. I am curious though, what are the problems that arise from using a Mac?

If the users use the noative Mac viewer then field data disappears when you re-open the form .....this is not an issue using Adobe's viewers on the Mac.
