Form won't open in Reader

I just created a new form in LiveCycle and now many people are having problems opening it in Reader.  It works just fine for me and others in my office, but when I send it out to students most of them are getting an error message.  I've designed forms before and never run into an issue.  Help!

What error message exactly?

When they are seeing the "Please wait..."-message then because they don't use Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

Yes...it's the please wait message.  Here's the full thing.

"Please wait...

If they click on the file to open it why wouldn't it open in Reader automatically if they have Reader installed?  I had my husband try earlier and he got the same message on our home computer that definitely has Reader.

Reader may be not the default PDF viewer.

To change this open Reader, goto Edit > Preferences > General and click on "Default PDF-Viewer".

If this also doesn't work, it may be the forms getting damaged while downloading.

Thank you.  What is an XFA-based form?  Should I maybe save in a different file format?  I'm sending this form out to students all over campus so I can't give them each instructions on how to open the form.  I need to be able to save it in a way that everyone can open easily.

Forms created with LiveCycle Designer are XFA-based forms.

Got it.  I've designed plenty of forms in the past and I've never had any problems with people being able to open them.  I sent two forms to my husband at home yesterday designed the exact same way and he was able to open one, but not the other.  I'm wondering if the file is somehow corrupted.  I noticed in the folder where I'm saving the forms there is now a text document titled debug.  I have no idea where that came from.  Would that affect anything?

Did he receive the "Please Wait.." message as you noted above with the one PDF that doesn't open?

I don't see an option to upload the pdf...just images or video.  Am I missing something?

After reviewing the sample PDF's, it was determined that 1 form was saved as Static PDF and the other Dynamic PDF.  The Please Wait... message was displayed by the Dynamic PDF becuase it was openned in another PDF Viewer other than Adobe Reader.  Links to reference:  http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle/kb/xfa-forms-firefox-chrome.html and http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/10.0/DesignerHelp/WS92d06802c76abadb-728f46ac129b395660c-7ef1.... for chosing Static vs Dynamic.
