Is there a way to have an expandable field automatically push the remaining/following fields on the page to a second page? I can get the text field to expand based on the user's input. But, it does not push the fields down. The text in the field appears on the top of the remaining fields. I can't figure out how to get the remaining fields to move to the second page.

Is your layout in the object that contains the text field (probably a subform) set to "flowed"? If it is set to positioned, then the positions of the other fields will not change.

I finally got the text box to push the remaining fields to the next page. I had to add the fields below the text box I need to expand to a subform and then also remember to set the page to flow. But now I have another question! :-). When I set the page to flow, it pushes all of the fields, text boxes, etc. together. It doesn't keep the same spacing as I had originally set. Is there a way to fix that? Do I need to create subforms for each field or group them into subforms to keep the proper spacing?

If you have groups that you know need to stay together, then you're exactly right. You'll have a container that is flowed, and subforms inside of it that are placed automatically. The subforms can be set to "positioned" so that the fields inside of them don't move around. You'll also want to make sure that the container (usually the page, BTW) is set to allow page breaks, but not the subforms.

Okay, so set the page to allow breaks, but not the subforms? Do you need to "group" the text/form fields within each subform as well?

Since the subform is positioned, it will always look the same. The grouping occurs by having them in a subform.
It's like taking a group photo with your friends. You're positioned in the photograph, so no matter where you move that picture in a photo album, you're always in the same place within the picture.
