Expandable forms push to second page

Avatar

I have created a form where the text boxes expand according to the text entered and push the content down. But now, they push the content off page 1 and do not appear on subsequent pages. How do I make the content flow to the second page? Please help or suggest a solution.

Select the subform that the text boxes are in and on the Object palette select "Allow Page Breaks within Content".

Thank you so much for your help, but that is something I have already done. Could you possibly look at it?

Wrap the fields around a flowed subform.

I did and it’s still pushing the content off the first page and it’s not appearing on the second.

You can share your form via Workspaces on acrobat.com.

Upload the file and then Share it from the popup menu. You should get a popup that asks you to whether to Share and Publish, you want to Publish first and then Share to copy the link to share in the forum.

That's if Francis' sample doesn't help!

Ensure that the main (top level) subform is set to flowed.

Link isn't working, did you Publish it as well as Share it?

And something Francis mentioned earlier, the subform you want to flow and break also needs to be in a flowed subform with page breaks (all the way up the hierarchy).

Ok that link worked!

The form is working fine for me in Acrobat 9 and Reader 8...we're talking about the 4 text fields at the bottom of page 1?

Thank you. It’s in Acrobat 9/livecycle.

The problem now is the forms are pushing on to the second page but pushing the signatures to page 3 instead of keeping them just below the boxes.

Attached is our conversation working through the other problems.

Ok for that you would need to have the signature blocks in a flowed subform as well. Your Subform1 in Section 2 is set to Positioned so it's going to stay in one piece.

You'll need to wrap each signature block in a positioned subform so the signature block stays whole when Section 2 breaks across the page. You'll need to size the positioned subforms to the amount of space you want around each signature block and then when you've got them all wrapped set your Subform1 to Flowed and Allow Page Breaks.

At which point you could actually put all that stuff in your first flowed subform and just let everything flow as one subform.

Just as a note, should you be doing any scripting, it's a good idea to name your subforms. Makes things much easier.

Hi Jennifer,

I had a quick look at your form and the  problem was that  "Allow page breaks within Content" was not checked on the (Untitled Subform)(Page 2).

I've sent you your updated form.

Thank you. One last questions and this may not be possible.

Can you make it to where you have to have all the required fields filled in before you can print?
