I have a form developed in LIVE CYCLE ES2, and want to use the same-similar-form on a mobile device. All I need is to have emplyees fill out the form off line-save-and email, using our intranet, Would ES4 Designer allows me to perform this task?  If not, what do I need to buy.

Malek,

LiveCycle ES4 has the capability to render designer created forms in HTML5 format so that they can be accessed via Mobile/Tablet

Please go through the mobile capabilities of LC ES4 @ http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle.html

Thanks for the quick reply Santosh!

I keep reading ES4 suite has the cababilities, and it does exacly what I need, but Im still confused to what I really need to purchase. Would the ES4 Designer for $299 do that for me, or I have to buy something else, like sign up with the server and buy these individual modules.  I opoligize for the poor programming language, Im still new into this.

One needs to buy LiveCycle server.

Is your requirement for enterprise use?

My need for the software is strictly for building a form that can be filled out on a tablet (Preferably in adobe reader) . and saved, then emailed to another pc/tablet.

I am also in the same boat.  I would like to design forms that could be filled out and emailed  on tablet or smartphone, with the form being able to be downloaded from my hosting account.

I have the creative cloud and captivate 7 is there another program that can work with LiveCycle Designer ES4 to render the Dynamic XML form in a HTML5 format?

You may want to look at Adobe's Forms Central, it doesn't work with Designer (as far as I know) but does let you do online forms.

Thank you so much Jono,

I currently use forms central for some of the less complex forms and I absolutely love it.

The forms that are giving me issue for smartphones & tablets are complex flowing forms.

It looks like I will need to talk with the Adobe folks to determine just what I need to convert

this type to a mobile version.

Your response and assistance are greatly appreciated!

As mentioned above you need the server product to get html out of Designer forms. And unless you work for a large company you probably can't afford it.

I called them and you are absolutely right. As a small business, I can't

even fathom that much to just get in the door, not to speak of the software

costs. I am looking for ways to convert the xml to html5. I don't know if

I will be able to embed a working form into a Captivate presentation as a

quiz and then publish as html5-- or they may just need to use a laptop or

computer to enter and use paper forms as worksheets in the field. Lots of

issues with documentation and HIPAA needs for security. Can't have data on

the server at this time, must be on local computer, and protected when

being transmitted and at rest--password protecting takes care of that.

Just need to find a way to have a dynamic flowable form--that can be

accessed with mobile devices. I may put one of my computer friends on

writing an app or program that will do that conversion.

You have no idea how much I appreciate your time and assistance.

Hello Santosh,

I am in s similar postion as Malek.  I have created fillable PDF forms in Live Cycle ES2 that people can add information to, save and email to someone.  I do not have a requirment for enterprise use nor will I purchase LiveCycle server.  How do we "convert" our current PDF files to they can be used on an IPhone or IPad?

There is no way to do it without the correct pieces of the server suite.

I guess we will need to use another format for mobile devices. Will talk

to my programmer and see if he can come up with a solution.

Thank you so much for all your help

Malek:

For you or anyone else, Technoracle has a system that can convert PDF forms into mobile forms combined with a mobile reader that can render them on mobile devices.   The system works well and can also connect LiveCycle to simple native apps at a low cost.   Ex-Adobe LiveCycle ES evangelist Duane Nickull worked on the system and developed the core of it.
