Calculate Future Date based on Duration (# of Days)

I'm new to scripting have no experience other than reading the forums.

Utilizing 3 fields, "StartDate", "Duration" (drop down list to select "# of days") DueDate.

I would like the DueDate to be based on a calculation by adding the value in duration plus StartDate.  Thanks for any help.
