Any limits for message/state retention on the server?

Are there any limitations (storage space, number of items, time period) for retention of chat history on the LCCS server(s)?

Also, any suggestions on the optimal API to access chat history so that it can be easily crawled/used by a custom search engine?

There isn't a real limitation on the number of items you can store, but at some point the system (or the client) will run out of memory

Regarding fetching the chat history, right now we don't have such API, but we are working on.
