[Q] Flex Data Services & FlexBuilder 2???

Avatar

Got a couple of quick questions...

If I download the FlexBuilder 2 from the Adobe site and
install it on my local machine, does it install Flex Data Services
as well or is it something separate???

Does FDS install separate web server on my local machine if I
already have IIS installed or does it utilize it somehow???

What is the initial root directory for the FDS???

Can you somehow change the default port to something else
rather than 8700 and how to do it if it is possible???

Thanks... :)

No, Flex Data Services (FDS) which is now called Livecycle
Data Services (LCDS) is a seperate installation.

FDS/LCDS is a J2EE application and hence you need a J2EE
server to run it such as JRun, JBoss, Websphere, Weblogic, and so
on.

I suggest you run through Christophe's FDS tutorial to get a
better understanding of FDS/LCDS:
