Hello everyone,
I am currently having a problem of timing to open the attached form. The size of the form is too big even though it does not have much of graphic and it is only 1 page form. Last week it was 29.5 MB and now it is 39.5 MB with just some small changes were add to it. It seems like it keep getting bigger when I just have a small change. Because of the size, it takes too long which more than 5 minutes to launch in the Workspace. I have tried to open it on different PC and still get the same problem. Users are complaining about it and are tired of waiting for it to open each time. They said that they never seen the 1-page form that has a big size like this form. I try different way to reduce it and even re-do it but have no luck. Hints: there are two different data connections for the web services. One is connecting to the external database and one is local which is Adobe DB that comes with the product.
If anyone have any advise or suggestion on how to reduce the size of the form please help. Thank you very much in advance,
Han Dao

Can you post the form (in a PDF format). There was an issue in previous release where copy and paste in teh form added numerous instructions that were not required. I want to verify that this is not the issue.

Hi Paul,
I just posted the form. Please review it. Note that the form is new, it was created from the scratch without copy & paste. One thing I noticed that when
I saved the form in PDF, the size is totally different which is 593 KB compared to 39.5 MB of the xdp file. This is so intesting for me.
Thanks again.

Hi There,
I submitted the problem to Adobe Support and they have helped me to fix the problem. They said this problem was a bug in the version 7.2 and though that it would bed fixed in ES 8.2 so they are not sure why it still happens. Anyway, here is the solution so I think I would post it to share with all of you.
- Open you form in LC Designer ES
- View your form in XML Source instead of Preview PDF.
- In XML source, do a CTRL-F to launch the Find then type "APED" to find it. It will highlight the "APED" for you, it you see the code shows 1 then it is OK, if if shows many times like keep repeating for the same "APED" at that field and that is a problem at that field. Write down the field name and go back to Design View or look in the Hierarchy for it then select it then try to change the Appearance property of that field to None than change it back to what you have before. e.g. the Appearance property of textfield_nameA was in Solid Box, changed it to None, then again change it back to Solid Box. This will remove those redundant APED codes that keep repeating in the XML Source
- With the field above selected, go to the XML Source to view it again, those repeating APED codes should be cleaned now.
- Then Continue to search and do the same thing for other fields to clean up those codes.
I did have more than 40,000 lines of XML codes in the XML Source of my file with the size of 40,511 KB and it took so long to load the form in workspace which shows the size of 29.5 MB. After have done these steps above, the form was really reduce from 40,511 KB to 188 KB. Amazing...!
Have a Nice Weekend everyone!

It is fixed in LS 8.2 SP2. The SP2 download can be found here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/products/enterprise/200810kcs_livecyclees_8.html
Not only is the problem resolved with SP2, but any affected file is fixed
once you open it. Definitely a relief!
