I am very new to adobe designing and used Pro 9 to make a long 4 page form. I then went back to tweak it by adding Livecycle programming to calculate Age from a DOB field. How to I transfer this over to my adobe 9 fillable form? It seems like it should be simple, maybe its my lack of sleep. Thanks!

If you originally created the interactive form in Acrobat Professional you cannot add scripting to the form using LiveCycle Designer.

The two tools create different types of PDFs. Acrobat is the traditional tool for creating PDFs and it produces a PDF type referred to as an Acroform. LiveCycle Designer is a tool for creating PDFs that are referred to as XFA forms. XFA forms have an XML wrapper that enable workflow functionality in the LiveCycle server suite.

Take a look at this link for a review of the differences in the tools.

This link provides options for importing different file types into Designer.

The attached form is a LiveCycle Designer sample that calculates age based upon date of birth from the current date and from a user selected date.

Do you have to have certain privilages in order to post a PDF here? I see insert image and insert video but no option to attach my PDF.

Yes, you have to be an Adobe employee. The attachment feature has been disabled for non-employees because of repeated attempts by hackers to upload malicious content.

Please forward the form to stwalker.adobe@gmail.com and I would be happy to take a look.

Steve, I sent you the files several days ago. Did you receive them? One was a large file 12MB i think.

Thanks again
