Chrome, Torch and Firefox will not open pdf documents created in Livecycle that have fill in permissions granted without first having to save the document. Most people don't know they have to save first and then open as there are no options for that shown. Instead you get the following message:

"Please wait...   If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.   You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by visiting  http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download. For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit  http://www.adobe.com/go/acrreader."

Nope, now let's add the new Microsoft Edge to the mix.

So now, in order to bypass having to first do a 'save as' I have to use either the old IE, Safari, or Opera. This whole issue first began with an update Firefox did back in 2013, and slowly, other browsers followed suit.

What was once a convenient way to create fill ins has now become a nemesis for the end user. I have begun the daunting task of looking into other options, which is very inconvenient, because I enjoy the freedom of using FormCalc or javascript to script fields for sales quote forms, so that my sales reps don't have to do any calculations.
