Numeric Field that starts with a zero

Using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2, how do I design a numeric field that allow zeros at the beginning of it.  I currently have the numeric field set up with 9 digits and have marked the Display/Edit/Validate/Data to "Allow Zeros" but it keeps deleting any zeros that are at the beginning of the number.   I am using this for an ID # which often starts with multiple zeros and contains no decimals or any other symbols.

I just saw another post from Niall about this and was able to figure it out.   I set it up as a text field and then in each of the Patterns that I had set up (Edit/Dala/Validate/Display) I removed the information that was in the "pattern" box.   It worked.
