Master Page 'content area'

Is there a way to make the content area in the master page "flowable"?  I have a text field field on my master page above the content area that is expandable with user input text.  I need the content area to move down accordingly.  THX.

I don't believe a content area can be flowable, only the sub-form(s) belonging to the content area.
